Owner description: The climax of a 16 km (10 mile) scenic highway known as the Akamina Parkway, is Cameron Lake. Nestled between the majestic mountain peaks of the Akamina Ridge, this sub-alpine lake is one of many serene bodies of water that makes up Waterton Lakes National Park. Beautiful Cameron lake is a great place to rent a canoe and grizzlies are often seen on the far slopes.

“Prettiest Lake Ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

Oh this lake!! Although there is often a lot of visitors to trip over at the lake it is lovely to rent a canoe and troll out the the middle for a peaceful view of the lake. The walk around the lake is easy and relaxing and worth doing and the lake itself is truly one you won't want to miss.

“Great place to see!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Whether you drive to the lake and enjoy a stroll around the lake, or cross country up to the lake in the winter, it is a place worth going to. The drive up to the lake is beautiful and enjoyable. The lake itself is a great place to find birds, take the kids for a stroll, or rent a canoe for a paddle on the lake. It is a place we stop at almost every time we are in Waterton, regardless of the time of year.

“Attractive lake”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

It doesn’t take too long to drive up to this beautiful lake and the car parking area is right next to the shoreline. Here you can buy an ice-cream, hire a boat or sit on the water’s edge with spectacular views across the water to the far shore which is in the United States and the mountains behind. Definitely worth a visit as this is a lovely alpine lake.

“Jewel of Waterton”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2012

We love the drive up to Cameron. The far end of the lake is in the USA. You can rent a canoe or paddle boat but they are quite expensive, or bring your own.The parking lot /offloading zone is a short way to the lake and paved for easy access. This is a fun place to picnic or there are losts of great picnic spots on the side of the rode on the way to or from Cameron Lake. There are also some really fun hikes in this area, but be prepared as they are long ones. We like to hike up the lake as the trail is right next to the lake and you can turn around when ever kids get tired. Be aware that there are lots a bear sightings in this area in spring or fall. Dress warm in fall as this is at high altitude and can get cold quite fast.
