“Beautiful Scenery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

Red Rock Canyon is a unique place to visit in Waterton. It is a beautiful drive with terrific scenery. We always see bears along the way. When you reach the canyon there is a terrific walking trail. A great place to see on your trip to Waterton.

“Very cool”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

Very cool. You can take a stroller around on the paths. The loop is a short walk. Parking lines up down the road (you're going to hike anyway). The dirt trail across the river that heads into the back country can be stroller accessible at least to the first falls with some effort.

“Great for hiking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 26, 2013

We come here quite often. The road up to Red Rock Canyon is quite twisty and in parts narrow, but I have seen RV's make it just fine. My kids think the drive up is one of the highlights!
It is not uncommon to see bear, deer, long horn sheep and even moose in this area.
Once you arrive at Red Rock Canyon the actual canyon is right by the parking lot and has a bridge over the canyon that is wheelchair accessible. There are public toilets available.
There are several hikes of varying length and difficulty starting from the main car park area, some are paved and others not. You are allowed to climb down into the canyon and walk up the river, which many people do, it's allot of fun.
As you are leaving the main car park a short way down the road there is a turning to the right and here you will find an enclosed picnic / BBQ area right on the side of the creek. Our kids love this spot because it is usually deserted and they love to sit on the bank and throw pebbles into the water. Dogs are allowed on a leash.
This is a stunning place and well worth visiting.

“A Must See”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

This canyon is one of the sweetest experiences in my visit to Canada. There is a little 15 minute lovely stroll around the river and longer walks close by. The scenery is fabulous and a must see for Waterton visitors!

“Beautiful and Peaceful”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

This canyon is busy in the summer as it is a common place to cool off while surrounded by nature. The drive is nice, with some fun ups and downs near the start. Parking can be a bit of an issue in the middle of summer, but it is a great place to see if you can. There is many trails that leave from the main part of the canyon, but the simple hike around the canyon is nice. The red rocks and the two streams in the area add to the beauty.
