I agree with many of the previous reviews. We are spending the weekend at this beautiful inn. After a long hike today, we were looking forward to dinner. The restaurant is lovely, looking out on the bay. The servers were extremely surly.
We each ordered an artisan green salad. We thought the starters looked better than the mains, so my friend, who is vegetarian, ordered the mushroom risotto and I ordered the seafood bowl.
After waiting quite a long time for the salads, and getting hungrier by the minute, the waiter appeared with a salad and a risotto. We told him that this was wrong and that we had both ordered salad and repeated the order. He left in a huff. The other server then returned with the salad and the risotto and again we explained that this was wrong. Then the server returned and read us what he had written down on his order pad. No one apologized and it took ages to get the salads while everyone around was being served.
The risotto was fine. My seafood bowl was filled with many unopened mussels (you are not supposed the eat them) and some broken clams. The crab and scallops were nice, but there weren't many. The broth was somewhat strangely flavored -- too many leaks and onions.
The servers never even checked in to see how the food was.
I would not recommend this restaurant. Too bad, because it is quite beautiful.
