“Excellent value for money only as part of a deal”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012 via mobile

We visited the Dog and Partridge as part of groupon deal and found it represented excellent value for money for dinner, bed and breakfast. The food was generally very good and staff pleasant.

The downside was the inattention to detail. Despite booking a twin room we arrived to find we'd been allocated a double. Service was very slow & orders had to be repeated. I'm not sure my bedding hadn't already been slept in as there were mascara marks on my pillowslip. But for £66 for 2 people I can't complain too much other than about the grubby bedding for which there is no excuse.

“A comfortable, friendly stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 28, 2012 via mobile

This was our second visit to the Dog and Partridge. We like staying here because it is a dog friendly hotel and the staff are always very welcoming. The accommodation was comfortable. The food is of very good quality. Handy location for lots of good walks. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

“GREAT HOTEL”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2012

We stayed here on Sunday 16th sept for 1 night through a groupon deal, hotel in a great location as we did the lovely dove dale walk first. We arrived at 4.30 and taken to our room which is in the hotel grounds, really spacious room with a double and single bed. We went back into the hotel for our cocktails, which was a nice and we ate in the restaurant in the evening, superb food, lovely homemade soup, nice roast lamb and yummy apple crumble to finish. Service was excellent by the young male restaurant manager and also both female owners came round asking on several occasions if everything was ok for us. We had breakfast next morning, I had the continental breakfast included in the deal which was brill, loads of cereals and plenty of choice of fruit, toast and great smoothies, my husband had full English which was only £5 extra, well worth it. Loved our stay here and we will definitely return.

“pleasant stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012

Stayed here on the 14th,,,a groupon deal. We went cycling on the Tissington Trail, and walking arounf d the manifold Valley, and the hotel is very well located, We stayed in the large block, and the room was large, well appointed, clean and comfortable. The meal was good value...excellent portions, and reasonable quality, with a very good portion of well cooked vegetables. We thought the staff were helpful and friendly, and the continetal breakfast...fruit, cerela toast and coffee set us up for a days walking. We would be happy to return...
