Stopped for a cream tea after several recommendations and all the good reviews were perfectly true.
Generous helping of jam and clotted cream to go along with the ,still warm, scones. A real teapot covered in a cute cosy to keep it warm.
There tea rooms clean and quaint.Food and drinks excellent quality and bargain prices. Soup and a roll £3. Cream tea £3. Cup of tea £1.25. Cake and pastries £1.
Brian the owner, chatty and informative about the B and B and obviously enjoys meeting new people and ensuring their visit is a great experience.

- Bassettwood has been totally renovated to a high standard and under new ownership. The farm is in a delightful location just outside the pretty village of Tissington, and close to the market town of Ashbourne and the well known beauty spots of Dovedale and the Manifold Valley. The accommodation also comprises of a pretty shepherds hut with a full sized double bed and tea/coffee making facilities, wood burner and beautiful views. The farmhouse has two recently refurbished double en-suite rooms. There is also a tearoom/garden serving cream teas with freshly baked scones and homemade soups, etc. The tearoom is open Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays from 12-6pm and dogs are welcome. ... more less
