“Nice meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

We stopped off at the Bentley Brook for a meal during our recent stay in the Peak District. We were pleased to find a warm and welcoming hideaway from the snowy weather and had a very nice meal as well. Staff were very friendly and the prices were pretty good too.

We were taken to Leatherbritches by friends who live close by. The Sunday carvery was the best I've tasted. There was a good selection of suculent meats, plenty of well cooked piping hot veggies , with delicious roasties, and mashed spuds, plus mint dumplings, what a feast. Also the staff were so friendly and nothing was to much trouble. I will certainly be going back.

We were part of a large group staying in between Christmas and New Year. The food was good, the accommodation comfortable and the beer excellent. But most importantly, for me, was the friendliness, helpfulness and politeness of all the staff. Rarely have I been made to feel more welcome than I was here and that made our stay particularly special. Thank you to all at the Bentley Brook Inn for looking after us so well. We all had a great time.

On the edge of the Peak District, this Inn offers good quality food at reasonable prices with excellent service. The same menu is used for the bar and the restaurant, and you can choose between the main bar area and a more formal dinning area. Recommended for visitor or local alike.

Stayed 2 nights during the week. A good location to explore the southern Peak District. Comfortable room, pleasant staff, good food, good beer, reasonable price. Could do with a little sprucing up, but I would recommend. Lots of families staying during trip to Alton Towers.

We booked the room at the last minute and was a little taken aback when we arrived and at first there was no record of the reservation, it was eventally sorted and we were shown to our room which was clean and tidy and well supplied. We ate supper in the bar as we were travelling with our small dog, the food was delicious but slightly let down by the quality of the crockery and cutlery which is odd really as the plates and cutlery at breakfast in the morning were much more suitable to the grade of the property. The hotel, staff and food are all very nice but it somehow lacks something and I am not sure what. I would stay again but only if passing, I would not go out of my way for a return trip.

As we have recently moved from Oxford to Staffordshire we have stayed here three times while searching for houses. We were not disappointed once. The staff were always very friendly and the food was always very tasty. The rooms were always clean and very quiet at night.
We have been back a few times since for the Sunday Carvery which is awesome.
Highly recommended.
