“Absolute disgrace”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2012

Haven't been to Pizza Express for many years, and my husband had never been. Decided to treat ourselves one evening and headed off to our local restaurant. From start to finish was an absolute disgrace. There were several bugs flying around, some of them managed to land in our drinks. We ordered a large pizza to share between us. It was so thin you needed a topping on it to hold the pizza together!!!! The garlic bread that my husband ordered was a small pitta bread drizzled in oil and garlic and a small blob of cheese. The drinks tasted like gnat's pee and a bottle of wine cost nearly £18. Have never been to pleased to leave a restaurant, never again.

“Better than you might think”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 10, 2012

As a regular visitor to this restaurant, I feel sorry for the person who had a problem with their buggy and hope they give it a second chance. A pal of mine is confined to an electric wheelchair and regularly eats here with his kids - no problems.

My wife and I visit most weeks for a chance to get away from the family and just talk. It's not special or pretentious, you know what you're getting at a PE and it rarely lets us down. On the rare occasion when the wine is not to our taste or the pizza is not as hot as we would like there is no problem about getting them changed and in fact, it is the staff in particular that make the Walton on Thames PE a touch above the others I have visited.

Add to this the permanent discounts offered by PE and for us it's a no brainer.

Just one tip for the first time visitor, choose a table away from the door. Window or walls are preferable. It gets draughty, especially in the winter!

“Can be rude and will not accommodate buggies!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 13, 2012

Due to there apparent stroked fire regulations they will not allow you to being buggies in. I'm hoping they're a little more accommodating for wheelchairs. Food is good and will normally suit most in a group. You can order take aways but they can be a bit of a minefield. If they're busy they will not do this despite advertising the service. Food is normally cold and looks unappetising by the time you get home. They don't give you bags (all in boxes including little tubs balanced with garlic butter bread etc etc etc) so its always fun trying to leave the restaurant with boxes and little tubs piled on top of each other without dropping them and beware they will not help you with the door unless you ask. My advice is bring your own bag

“On the money”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2012

Consistent, Consistent, Consistent, Consistent, Consistent, Consistent, Consistent, Consistent, Consistent, Consistent.

I have never had a bad meal at Pizza Express in 30 years! In the best way possible it is like McDonalds - You can go anywhere in the country to Pizza Express and it will be perfect and you know what you will get. If you like pizza and you like the word express then I can't think of any reason not to go to Pizza Express for a pizza. I have had better pizzas, and I have had worse pizzas, but these are great for the price, the level of customization and the excellent service. Top notch Senor Express!
