“Worth the drive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012 via mobile

Very remote but worth the drive. The hosts are super friendly. Food was amazing, and all locally grown in Elizabeth's backyard garden! Comfortable and clean room inside of an impeccably maintained house in the country. Breakfast is by reservation, so don't forget to sign up for a time slot. Beautiful landscaping.

Peaceful, tranquil, superb views, friendly hosts, superb accommodation, great food - what more could you ask for when looking for a place to stay in this beautiful area? We were there for only one night and combined it with an evening at Glenora Distillery where we enjoyed some top-notch ceilidh music.

Room Tip: Ask for a lake view!

The Tulloch Inn is beautifully situated on a lake but has no lake access. It is far removed from everything in the area. We were told it was just "a short distance" to Cape Breton Island. The drive out of the property took almost 20 minutes alone! The breakfast was delicious both days but we found the inn much too pretentious for our tastes. It just didn't give us that "comfortable" feeling we were looking for. The windows in the room were not screened so we had to sleep either with the window AC running or just the ceiling fan. With the beautiful weather we were having on our vacation having the windows open would have been a plus.

A wonderful place to enjoy the ambiance of Lake Ainslie, you willl not want to leave. Dinner and breakfast is served in their dining room and is delicious. What a great balcony overlooking the lake! The hosts, Keith and Betty, will make this a special get away. Everything is there for you to escape a busy schedule.

Room Tip: The MacPhee room is a gem. Fireplace, king-sized bed. A wonderful sitting area to curl up in and r...

Right from the get go this place seemed awesome. Just the cheerfulness of Elizabeth and Keith on the phone to their professional and friendliness when we got there.

On our trip to Nova Scotia each member of the family chose a bed and breakfast to stay in and this was mine because I wanted to stay in Cape Breton but with access to Ceilidh Trail
When I called and asked about them I was told there was one in nearby Inverness Beach on the night we were staying there.
Before we got there a family member who had stayed there previously suggested we have dinner there since it was available - I have to say dinner was marvelous. As was breakfast in the morning.

The view of the lake was both calming and beautiful.

We so enjoyed our stay.

I was visiting Inverness for a business trip and found this B&B thanks to Tripadvisor. Had a terrific stay here in the MacPhee Room which could comfortably sleep 3 with its queen bed and a single bed. The room and bathroom were incredibly clean (plus this room had a very large jacuzzi type soaker tub). The hosts were friendly but also gave us room and privacy to relax which was nice after a long day of work. The view from the back balcony of the lake was absolutely stunning and the breakfasts were simple, but delicious and made with love.

This was a find thanks to trip adviser, a little difficult to find but when you do well what a joy.Beautiful house, wonderful hosts, superb food and the views from the rooms are just like being transported back to Scotland. One tip, get out of bed in the middle of the night, stand on the balcony and look at the stars, amazing.
