“Great value, location and service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2010

I chose this hotel based on the reviews here and I was not disappointed. It's conveniently located near Schiphol with shuttle service every thirty minutes. When I arrived at the airport I called the hotel on the free hotel shuttle phone and they happened to be arriving in two minutes. We stayed here two nights because we had a very early morning flight. It was an easy train ride to the city center from the airport and of course convenient shuttle to the airport. The beds and pillows were fantastically comfortable. The room wasn't huge but it space was very efficiently used and we appreciated that it had a small refrigerator for beverages and I also liked that the windows opened. Also had a Nespresso coffee maker but we had to ask for the coffee at the reception - which they gave us at no charge. Also had no charge internet access which I always like. The pool and sauna area are very nice - my husband used frequently. The service was good - we had food and beverages several times in the pub but never ate in the other restaurant. I didn't see much of anything nearby within walking distance but didn't look that closely. We picked up things we needed at the airport on our way to and fro. The only surprise was that the shuttle did not start running until 6am so we had to take a taxi for our early morning flight. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel - clean, well cared for, convenient location, great service.

This is just nice and comfortable place to stay near airport, with reasonable value and adquate services near Schiphol airport, Amsterdam.

Hotel provides free shuttle service every 30 min to and from airport.

It has nice gym, sona, steam bath, swimming facility, have two reastaurants.

Rooms are not so big but still not too small. It is equipped with bath tub, LCD TV, free internet and also room services for odd hours.

This place is mainly a transit stop over while entering or going out from Schiphol; airport Amsterdam.

Compare to other 5 star hotels next to airport, this is to be considered "value for money"

The hotel is overall one of the best properties around the Schiphol airport. The rooms are spacious, very well equipped, sound proof and the materials are of high quality. There are several restaurants in the hotel. The two I have tried have been excellent. The public areas and the fitness facilities are all well kept and beautiful.

We booked this night very cheap via www.vakantieveilingen.nl and so our holidays started a day early! Perfect location and very nice hotel, classy, nice rooms, very nice sauna and spa. The breakfast was very extensive!
Great way to have a 'stop-over' after or before your holidays!

I am so impressed with this hotel, I am writing this review whilst still here!!!

I decided to spend my 40th birthday in Amsterdam, and wanted a special place to stay to mark the occasion. Well, what can I say about this place?

From the fabulous friendly staff, to the spotless, comfortable rooms, the hotel is perfect. The food excellent, as is the location. The beds are comfortable, and I love the heated bathroom floor!

I was very impressed with the gift, with a hand written note from a member of staff, left for me when having breakfast this morning, one word, class!

The hotel amenities are first class. I have stayed in some 5* hotels, but this one wipes the floor with most of them.

The shuttle bus to the airport is always on time and very comfortable.

The only down side for me is that I wish I was staying here until Wednesday, rather than going back to the Citizen M Hotel for the rest of my stay.

I will be back to this hotel as soon as I can, and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone. 10/10, keep up the good work.

Stayed here for 6 nights with my husband who was on a conference here. It is about a 10 minute drive from the airport and for an airport hotel is very nice. However to get to Amsterdam you need to catch the shuttle back to the airport and then train into the city. Apart from the forest behind the hotel there is nothing to do in the area, however I do recommend grabbing a bike and going for a ride in the forest.

The room was quiet and not overly large in size but comfortable. Breakfast was a lovely buffet and we had dinner in the Sports Bar a couple of nights which was ok. There is free internet access downstairs. The pool area is also quiet nice with a pool, sauna, steam room. The fitness centre was equipped with a couple of treadmills, rower (computer didn't work), cross trainer and some weights machine and free weights.

If I was overnighting in Amsterdam to catch a flight I would recommend this hotel, as it is a nice airport hotel. However if you want to visit Amsterdam itself go stay in town.

Location: the hotel is not in Amsterdam, it is located close to the Schiphol airport. the surrounding area is nice with some KLM buildings and a part of the airport nearby for small aircarft. There is absolutely no noise. Amsterdam bos is very close so the hotel has an excellent outlet for jogging, cycling walking and other such activities. The reception provides free bikes and a map and also you can rent more upgraded ones for a small fee. Also smart cars are available for rent. The hotel operates a free, big and consistent shuttle to the airport every half an hour which reaches Schiphol Plaza in about 10 minutes. from there the train does another 15 minutes to central Amsterdam. For us this hotel provided an excellent mixture of relaxing close to a forest, and being able to visit Amsterdam and many other parts or the Netherlands, from the Schiphol train station which is a main hub for the rail network. We didn't expect the location to be so comfortable but we were pleasantly surprised. In Schiphol plaza there are many shops that can cater to most needs but the supermarkets are a bit overpriced in our opinion. Right in front of the hotel there is a public bus stop with buses connecting to Schiphol and Amstelveen which is a small town nearby (accessible by bike too).

Cleanliness: the hotel public areas were spotlessly clean and so was our room. however, staying there for six nights, we observed a small downfall in the cleaning of the room the last couple of days. we believe this had to do with the particular housekeeper, because everything else was extremely well cleaned and maintained. the room wasn't dirty at all, however it wasn't at the high standard you expect from a hotel where everything is perfect.

Room/Sleep: The room is excellent, spacious with plenty of light, nice comfortable bed and linen with an excellent bathroom. The hotel is very quiet which is something we didn't expect from such a big and busy establishment. It was literally as if we were alone.

Service: All the staff were very helpful, polite and efficient. in fact they are so coordinated and organized, that it is rare to see. The receptionists are friendly and helpful, and the hotel operates a separate guest relations desk which provides maps of amsterdam and useful information on many things. In general, everyone will do whatever they can to help you. The hotel has a business center with computers and free internet and impressive conference facilities. it also has a spa, massage, swimming pool and numerous other things we didn't try because we were too busy exploring amsterdam.

Breakfast: our rate included buffet breakfast, which was delicious with an amazing variety of fresh food for any taste. the breakfast room is also very nice.

Restaurant: the hotel has a bar which also serves nice food 24h a day. we found food tasty and reasonably priced. great salads, some nice pasta and hamburgers as well as other things. it also has a formal restaurant which again is not really expensive. unfortunately a flu prevented us from trying this one.

Value: for us this hotel was a very pleasant surprise. it is not a typical airport hotel and it could easily be a five star in our opinion. Everything was close to absolute perfection from the location to the staff and the building. we have been to many hotels, and this one really made us feel at home. we relaxed and explored amsterdam and various other parts of the netherlands by train. we would surely return with the first opportunity and would choose no other place to stay for amsterdam. overall, it is one of the best hotels if not the best we have been in.
