“Good hotel not too far from City”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 23, 2012

Arrived at Amsterdam airport and after reading other reviews knew to head for the exit at arrivals hall 4 for the free bus to the Hotel. Coach (not mini-bus) arrived bang on time. From the airport to the hotel the bus runs 15 mins past and 15 min to the hour. Short ride to Hotel on almost empty roads. Easy check-in and very friendly service. Entered the room to find 2 single beds next to each other to make a double, no probs with that. Older style tv but it was working without any probs. There was tea and coffee making facilities, an ironing board with iron, a fridge and a safe that was large enough to put your lap-top into. Opperation of the safe was using a credit or debit card magnetic strip (no charge just uses the info on the strip, which we found very convienient). Bathroom with large bath and shower over and of coarse the customary toiletries. Used room sevice for a meal which we felt was very reasonable a couple of Euro's more that if you had eaten in the sports bar. Shuttle coach leaves on the hour and half hour to the airport, again bang on time. Took the train from the airport to the city 3 stops away cost 7.80 euro's and taking about 15 mins. Considering the other hotels that we had looked at in the city and what we had payed for the Dorint this was a great hotel for the money even adding on the cost of the train to the city. Oh yes you don't even know that you are in an airport hotel as we did not hear any aircraft the whole of the time that we were there (4 nights).
So in conclusion if you are looking for a good hotel (if slightly out of town) you can't go wrong with staying at the Dorint hotel.

Stayed at the Hotel Dorint for two nights (room 693) to visit the Keukenhoff. The room was very clean and perfect for a short stay. The bathroom was spacious with bath and shower over. Despite it's location close to the airport there was no aircraft noise and the rooms were well insulated. Bed's were comfortable and there was flat screen tv, due to a technical issue limited channels available. Free wifi offered by the hotel which worked well in public areas but was not reliable in the room. Shuttle service to the airport free and reliable gives access to Amsterdam. Breakfast selection, comprehensive and tasty. Parking on site is expensive as is bar prices but this would not stop me from returning to this hotel in the future.

10mins shuttle bus from terminals. Very friendly hotel; excellent rooms and beds which give you a good sleep. Food in bar is ample and available 24 hours with a beer. Early breakfast in bar area. Pool, steam room, sauna, gym all free. Also free Internet. Cycles available to cycle in the woods by hotel. Train to City from airport.

This hotel fits well for tours and people with business trips. It is located in the
Schiphol area with shuttle bus to and from the airport available every half hour, and bus stop is just outside the hotel that also connected to the city. Yet you may also say that it is close to nowhere.
As a 4 stars hotel, it was a nice building with modern design and I enjoyed my
one night stay here in my last trip to Europe. What I liked the most:
-the room with big window, clean and bright,
-simple European décor with color scheme in creamy white, light brown, amber and black, with big sliding door to separate the bed room and the bathroom area, (not my favorite color but very interesting, unforgettable..)
-the glass desk and the stylish furniture,
-the bed, nice soft pillows and linen,
-the pullout ironing board to maximize use of space, lovely idea,
-all needed amenities available,
-the coffee and wine bar downstairs, cool!

I did not use the Internet in the room so no comment about this. I just found
that it was very convenient to use the computer downstairs. It was nicely
designed, quiet corner with privacy, and it was free.
The buffet breakfast was really good, served in the comfortable, spacious breakfast
room. There was great selection of all brunch items. I especially enjoyed the fresh cheese, fresh bread, fresh milk, and the smoke salmon.

Note: as a personal experience, the only reliable shuttle bus service
may only happen in Japan, not very much in Europe. Better prepare well
and allow more time to get to the airport. Always look for “back up” options
was important.

A fine stay for a family or just couples or even for a business meeting.
It has a great variety of facilities including a sports and media bar, a fitness center and a spa, and also a swimming pool.
The best part was the great breakfast which comes complimentary. This has a HUGE number of options with very neatly done and served dishes. The hotel staff are very pleasant and very helpful too.
I completely recommend this hotel for all kinds of travlers.

The Dorint had everything you expect from an airport hotel: huge lobby, multiple restaurants, nice rooms, convenient access to the airport and city center. The restaurants were good, the rooms were large and clean, and it was all very modern and fresh looking. The bus to the airport is helpful and can double to get you downtown as well. It runs every half hour and the bus downtown is only a few times a day. Take the bus to the airport, then catch the train downtown.

My only issue was upon check in. The receptionist could not find my reservation, it took 30 minutes before the issue was resolved. They issued no apologies for our time lost and it seemed our time or concerns were not important to them. The staff as a whole looked uninterested in the happiness of their guests, smiles were rare. And there was no information offered as to why our problem had occurred or what was going to be done about it. We were simply told to sit on the other side of a large lobby and wait. Thirty minutes later we got a smug hand wave to come back over and get our room keys. No smiles, no apologies, just smugness.
