Stayed for one night between flights. I’ve been a fan of Radisson Blue for a while now, having staying in other international locations. I had high hopes for this stay, but was not very impressed. The rooms are dated, but the lobby and restaurants have been renovated. I was expecting more for the price and brand.

For internet, the rooms have a wired connection (for a fee) and the lobby/restaurants have free wifi. The rooms also have a TV with internet that is included in the charge. This arrangement makes things difficult for people hoping to work off their tablets/phones from their rooms.

Breakfast was nice and had a good variety (breads, fruits, cold cuts/cheese, cereals, eggs, bacon, sausages, and other standard warm fare). Again, it fell short of the breakfasts I have had at other Radisson Blu hotels.

The bus ran every twenty minutes and was on time. Like other reviews, the bus was crowded, but manageable.

We were upgraded to a business-class room and it was lovely, with everything fresh, clean, and exceptionally comfortable. Yet the room was missing the complimentary bathrobes/slippers and there were only 3 towels for 2 people.

As we arrived on an early Saturday evening, we decided to eat in the bar, rather than the OPTIUM restaurant which had only 2 diners. Our decision was a mistake. Service in the bar was very slow and the dishes were poorly cooked. The shrimp appetizers were overcooked on the outside and slightly raw on the inside. Our Cesar salads with chicken had a pool of water at the bottom of each bowl, indicating the lettuce had been inadequately drained. The amount of dressing and croutons were almost non-existent. We hoped for better with our ice cream desserts, which did not disappoint, although the kitchen made a mistake and gave us 2 balls of ice cream rather than the 1 ball each as ordered. We were happy they had made the mistake as each ball was tiny in size and could have been easily eaten in one bite. When the bill arrived, we noted an error in the number of beverages ordered. We could only conclude that the normal kitchen/wait staff do not work on the weekend.

We thought about having the breakfast buffet (which we always love at other Radisson Blu hotels), but the desk clerk informed us we should arrive at least 3.5-4 hours before our flight's departure since Schiphol security had been recently centralized. We took his advice and deeply regretted doing so, as there were absolutely no security lines on a Sunday morning. He also incorrectly informed us that the hotel's buffet breakfast would be an additional charge, which we later learned was incorrect as our upgraded room should have included complimentary breakfasts. The reception clerks, while trying to be helpful, need to give better information.

As for the shuttle service to/from the airport, we waited at least 25 minutes at Schiphol for the shuttle. When we took the shuttle back to the airport in the morning, the driver did not leave at the stated time as he went inside for a coffee at the hotel, which delayed the shuttle departure for roughly 10 minutes. Normally, we would not have minded, but the reception clerk's horror stories about long lines at security had us on edge, so we were a bit dismayed by the delay.

We're elite members of the Radisson Blu loyalty program; we generally enjoy the hotel chain. The upgraded, renovated rooms are lovely, but this location has a few concerns that need to be addressed before it warrants the name.

-The breakfast buffet is great and plentiful in variety and flavor
-All of the staff members in the Talavera breakfast area are very service oriented and a pleasure to be around - they truly go above and beyond to meet the needs of guests
-Very clean and well kept hotel and grounds

-€30 early check in fee
-Despite the great breakfasts at Talavera (bottom floor), do not expect any wonderful lunches or dinners from the hotel restaurant OTIUM on the main floor - I would not recommend
-No local dining options and front desk staff is not knowledgeable about restaurants in downtown Amsterdam (they will hand you a large binder to thumb through -- you will find better options right here on TripAdvisor)
-Despite this being an airport hotel, you are forced to take a hotel shuttle with erratic arrival times and multiple stops in order to get to and from the hotel from Schiphol airport/train station. This takes at least 30 minutes at minimum and being that there is absolutely nothing to do/see/eat around the hotel this becomes extremely inconvenient

Room Tip: Although my room was clean and well appointed, the modern looking rooms that you see on the hotel we...

Had a fantastic stay. Very clean, beautifully decorated room. Huge upgrade from where we stayed the previous two nights in the city center! Takes about an hour to get to and from the city center. You can use the 24-hr hotel shuttle to the airport for free, then take one bus from the airport. Wish we had stayed here for the duration of our time in Amsterdam. Outlets for electronics from multiple countries, nice television, and good selection of drinks and snacks in room. Very friendly and helpful staff! Highly recommended.
