“Stay for one night relaxing in Airport Hotel”

We stay for one night in this good airport hotel in a new renovated room on the 4th floor excellent king bed and verry clean room. If you wan't stay overnight for exampel your next flight book this hotel.
Excellent super breakfast and free nespresso coffee on your room.
Verry helpfull personel and verry kindly.
The company fitness club is on the -1 floor visit this club and and relax in the Sauna.

Room Tip: Ask for a room ont the 4 off 5th floor superior room king bed back side we stay in room 416 back sid...

The Radisson Blu Hotel is a good airport hotel. It's minutes away from the airport with a convenient shuttle The hotel has a full service restaurant. The rooms are clearn and nicely decorated - and surprisingly good size rooms...which you don't typically find at an airport hotel.

Clean, tidy and well presented. This is a very good airport hotel.

Only one negative - the hotel clearly wasn't busy, yet the lady at reception wouldn't allow me to check in till 3pm on the dot. Very inflexible and a very unusual attitude - one that I rarely encounter.

A free shuttle bus is provided to the airport. The food in the bar is very good, as is the service. The rooms are of a high standard and the toiletries are some of the nicest I've ever used at a hotel.

Being back from a three weeks holiday overseas and having to stay in Amsterdam overnight to get my flight back home i used tripadvisor to get a hotel. Sadly my choice fell on Radisson Blue in Schiphol. Let me say that normally i use a Radisson when i have to choose, beacuse i have never been disappointed and normally they offer a very good standard at a reasonable price. I have been in Raddissons all over Europe, from Milan to Baku, from Klaipeda to Paris, so i can tell i know what i buy. Pity the Radisson in Schiphol was a major disappointment. Overexpensive (200 Euros for a Junior suite dating back to the 70ies) and never renovated. I checked in and the access made me understand perfectly what was going on. Access is from the bus parking where you feel like in a (poor) railway station. Carpet old and dirty and scratched chairs all over. At the reception desk the guy working there asks me if i want breakfast the day after for 25 Euros each, but if i get breakfast for 50 Euros i can have an upgrade to a Junior so called suite. Considering the poor maintenance of the entrance and the hall i said YES PLEASE. I had the feeling it was going to be a bad night anyhow. So, signing for a stay of 190 Euros for two people i asked to use the sauna. The polite answer was that sauna didnt work on saturdays and sundays. Great !
I get into my junior suite wih my wife (room 523) and i find a partially renovated room with a toilet in the poorest condition i ever found. Just to give you an idea, the soap by the basin WAS ALREADY USED and kindly left by the staff for the following customer (i.e. me and my wife) Not to mention the broken tiles on the floor or the crippled basin. (See pictures). Every TV channel which wasnt dutch had to be paid. Horrible forniture from the 70ies badly renovated.
Anyway, after 12 hours flight from Thailand we tried to manage the situation and we went to the supposed to be restaurant where a bunch of Middle Easterns or whatever was holding a private dinner. The menu was poor and depressing (plate of the day was chili with zucchini with basil) so the only thing to choose were two steaks with chips (25 euros each) and a bottle of light bodied french wine (43 Euros ...). So ... to have two poor steaks with french fries overburned in oil and hardly eatable we paid 103 Euros (two bottles of sparkling water included). No need to say that service reflected the quality of the food.
After spending the night close to a room where a dutch couple with 2 barking dogs and two children (barking almost like the dogs) the morning after I paid the bill with a smile and, after that, I kindly asked the receptions it if he ever worked in any other Radisson. The answer was no and, being interested to the reasons why i asked such a question, i invited him to visit other Radisson hotels. He informed that the 5th floor - where my supposed to be junior suite was located - had already been renovated while other floors were in definitely worse condition. I can just imagine what you get in other parts of the Hotel for 300 Euros. :) . In a word ... beware ... its an overexpensive dormitory by the airport, labelled Radisson and conceived to suck money from unaware travellers!!!!!!!!

The Radisson Blu hotel is a very comfortable hotel with well-trained and attentive staff.

The rooms are well appointed and the selection of TV and movies is better than most. The restaurant provides a reasonable range for evening meals and caters for simple breakfasts.

The one thing that lets this hotel down is the higher-than-average prices for pretty much anything you may want. Only the Internet access and a few of the TV channels are free of charge.

But... 4 euro for a mars bar and 5 euro for a bag of crisps - that is exhorbitant! Each item can be bought for well under 2 euros in a local supermarket.

The would be an excellent hotel if the high prices were lowered (by 20-50%).

Oh... And they do run a free shuttle to and from Schiphol airport, too - another freebie :-)

Our stopover, Johannesburg to US, was a very pleasant experience. We had an issue in the room and the young lady was adamant about moving us to a business class upgrade, but I was very ill with a cold and we were only there for 1 night, so actually we declined. How very gracious she was. We had an excellent dinner and apparently I did not look well, because the server at breakfast the next morning asked if I felt better. He was obviously very well bred, educated and professional. He appeared to be one who could be the son of the owner and was working his way up from the bottom. Anyway, the breakfast was quite a buffet. Our stay was most memorable because of the kind people skills of the staff and sincerely wanting to make us comfortable. Airport hotel airport shuttle was very efficient.

The 252 reviewers who have rated this hotel must have stayed somewhere different that where I stayed. 259 euro for an old and tired room and another 25 for breakfast is frankly a joke. Stay at the Citizen M for half the price and be impressed.
