This hotel is past passport control and minutes from the international gates at Schiphol. I have stayed many times... the rooms are tiny but nice and very modern. It's a huge advantage to be in the terminal; I typically set my alarm 75 minutes before my international flight departure time when staying here and still arrive plenty early to board. There is no restaurant or bar, but there are lots of options throughout Schiphol, so that's not a big concern.

Had an early flight out of Amsterdam and did not want to deal with cabs, early rental car returns etc so we booked at the Mercure Schiphol. The hotel is located inside the actual terminal building so you will need to clear customs to get there. If possible you should check your luggage before going to the hotel. In our case that was not possible since the charter flight we were on only allowed check-in 3 hours before departure. Luckily there is no problem taking your luggage through customs into the terminal building and taking it out on the day of departure to check in with the airline. You will need to go through customs and immigration again though to get to the airline check-in counter. Aside from your passport, you must also have a copy of your hotel reservation with you in order to go in and out, and I suggest you also carry a copy of your ticket, just in case. No need to take your cabin luggage back out to check in for your flight. Just bring the luggage you will be checking in. Once that's done, clear customs again and pick up your cabin/hand luggage at the hotel.
Because you can rent the room for the day, the night (8 PM to 9 AM) or both I assume, make sure that when you book the room you indicate exactly what it is you want to book.

An excellent option for an overnight between flights home. Allowed us to arrive late in evening on a flight from Russia, have shower and comfortable night's rest. The next morning we were (literally) a 10 minute walk to the gate. The room is small and basic, but that is all we needed. Clean, comfortable, quiet. Nothing exciting. The cost ($143) was what I expected. Not a great deal but a fair price for what we received.

I loved staying in this hotel, can't have any complaints about service, rooms etc.

Only one disappointment was that after checking out of the hotel, I had to get out of the terminal again to check in my luggage.
This meant that I had to wait in a very long line at immigration, with all my luggage and a small baby, to get to the departure hall again. It took me about half an hour to get out of the terminal!

It is an excellent hotel a little difficult to find at the airport. Once you find it, it has good appointed rooms very efficient layout and a 24 hours dinner-lunch-breakfast restaurant just some steps away.
