Well, what can I say. The other reviews written below are incredibly harsh on what is (from my experience and the experience of the rest of my party) a lovely hotel/restaurant.
We stayed at The George for 3 nights. Friday, Saturday and Sunday night (I'm writing this on the Sunday night). We are a car owners club and we decided upon the Lincolnshire Wolds for our annual trip. There are around 10 of us and so finding a hotel that can accommodate all of us is quite difficult. Luckily one of our organisers stumbled upon The George. Although the parking is effectively public, there was always space for us all to park outside.
When we arrived I'll admit I was a little apprehensive. You arrive into the bar area which at first glance does look a little dated. However my apprehension was quickly dealt with when the friendly owner showed me to my room. Well, what can I say. The room was brilliant. Very clean, tidy and modern. After getting sorted out we went down to the bar and had some of the house ale, which was very nice indeed.
We ate for two nights in a row at the George, and on both occasions the food was very pleasant. The breakfast was also very good and they effectively cooked whatever you wanted which was absolutely brilliant for me as I have allergies to a lot of things.
Overall the visit was very enjoyable and I would certainly visit the George again. My only negative points would be the Sunday closing times (the bar is shut on sunday evenings) and the power shower being like a trickle of water in my room (the rooms of the other group all had very good showers).
