“out of the way and worth the drive”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

We were camping at Sandbanks and did a day of driving the wine and taste trails of the area. We didn't know anything about this Inn but decided to try for an early dinner. It was great. The restaurant is charming - old converted stone building right on the side of the lake. The food was really good - steak sandwich was awesome. Salads were fresh. And local wines. Highly recommend this stop.

“Excellent stop”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2012

Rainy day when we started out so hit lunch early...good because when we left there was a crowd. Three kids, everyone happy. Four yr old loved his chick fingers..better than average. We had mussels to start, great but not enough bread for sopping even when got a second round. Teens had poutine good but rich and pulled pork. Hubby had tourtière and I had mushroom cheese and veggie filled sandwich...fantastic. Great house brews...too bad can't purchase for home.

“Nice Little Scenic Restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012

My parents come here often for dinner and they took for first time last night. It's not a terribly diverse menu but the food is excellent. We enjoyed Atlantic Salmon, Pork tenderloin, and Tortiere and yummy carrot cake for dessert. They have a nice wine selection and they also have their own brewery. There is outdoor dining as well as indoor. It is located on the lake which is literally on top of the mountain. You can also look off mountain on the other side and see the Glenora ferry crossing. There are cottages that can be rented and it looks like they are doing more renovations across the street. I believe it closes in the fall after Thanksgiving for the season.

It is also a nice location for a small wedding reception which I had considered last year.

“Great lunch at 4:30 pm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2012

We were pleased to find the lunch menu still available at 4:30 pm, which made the meal affordable. I had the basic cheese quiche and upgraded the salad to the nice Greek. My wife had the chicken vol-au-vent and upgraded to a strawberry salad. The only wine by the glass came from Pelee Island, though local wines were featured by the bottle. My dark beer was brewed locally and was very good. We ended by splitting some frozen yogurt. The patio has a nice view of the Lake on the Mountain. It was a hot day so we were happy to get a shady spot. The tables in the sun may have been a bit much.

“Great food, excellent service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2012

The food is fantastic and the service was excellent. The kids had meat pie (tortiere) - they loved it! The main course (lamb shanks and beef medallions) was delicious. We were so full we shared a dessert. The setting is wonderful near the Lake on the Mountain on one side and a few meters away is Lake Ontario.
