“Just terrible!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2011

We paid more thinking we'd have a better experience than some of the lower priced options. The room was large and well air conditioned. The bed was the most uncomfortable sleep we've had in a long time. The breakfast was a shock. Inedible, low, low quality food. And, this from a place that claims a cooking school. Clearly they don't care and it shows.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 13, 2011

We stayed here for 2 nights in June 2011 and in June 2010 and both times were in the same room in the Heritage building. The room was well furnished and the bathroom huge and luxurious. Last year the room's Internet connection was not working and the front desk was at a loss to explain why, This year, however, it functioned properly. However, the safe was a problem this time and I reported the problem 3 different times (all it needed was a new battery) but the maintenance man never turned up. Therefore the safe was useless!
And both years we noticed that rooms were not sound proofed and we could hear everything in the next door room - including a long phone call at 6:30 in the morning! The only way to combat this is to set the air circulation fan to 'On' which provides a steady drone that helps disguise the intermittent noises.
The latter problem was created during construction but the first 2 problems are indicative of a lack of attention to detail and follow up which is a pity as much thought has gone into setting up the rooms.

We stayed in one of the new buildings. Our suite consisted of a bedroom with a king size bed and a flat screen TV. Through sliding doors there was a living room with gas fireplace and, flat screen TV. The bathroom was very spacious and well equipped and clean. It was warm enough to sit outside in the Muskoka chairs. There was also a fridge in the room.
A 3 course dinner and breakfast were included in our package. The food was outstanding and the service, especially from Jeremy and Heather very good.

Room Tip: Ask for a room in one of the new buildings.

My wife and I had dinner reservations at the Amelia's Garden Restaurant in Dec . When we arrived our server told us there would be few other clients that evening. Although the 4 course meal we had was superb, our server was deplorable. She constantly rushed us through our meal. With great clatter, she hastily gathered up the dishes after each course. There was no offer of a replenishment of either water or breads. In between periods of frantic activity at our table this server must have retired for a cigarette break. Her return to our table coincided with the strong aroma of tobacco smoke. Most interestingly, over the past month I have offered 2 separate written comments to various managers at the Waring House with no reply. They have obviously lost my business.

We stayed here during the November promotion for Taste of the County. We had superb rooms in the lean new buildings with a two room suite. The rooms were clean and spacious with a huge bathroom. Two flat screens. Sitting room with a desk. The food was absolutely fabulous with an adequate wine list. The special pricing during this promo was well worth it. We are looking to booking again for this promo.

We just returned from our 8th stay at the Waring house, and once again had an amazing time, we go here about 4x a year to relax and enjoy the County restaurants and wine.
Our room was quiet, clean, and we always request the 10% CAA member discount on the room rate which is always nice. We stayed 2 nights in the House Next Door and loved it, and then upgraded to the private Stone cottage with outdoor hot tub and fireplace on our last night, what a great view of the sunset. We met the owners who are there every night overseeing the service at the Inn and enjoy dinner in the Pub, they are very nice and really do care about the guests experience. The live entertainment in the Barley room pub is great every night, and also the food, we loved the hot wings, grilled shrimp skewers, and the ribs are awesome. I honestly have no complaints, it was another perfect stay! Breakfast is included and is hot and delicious, my eggs done exactly as requested. Love, love, love this place can't wait to return again in October to enjoy the fall colours in the County. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay another memorable one. I give the Waring House my highest reccomendation, if you don't love it here you must be very hard to please!

My wife and I have stayed here on numerous occassions. Usually in the older rooms with the small hot tub on the deck. The last time we stayed there we were very disappointed as the room was dirty, smelled of mildew and really worn out carpeting. So, the last time we booked, we opted for one of the rooms in the new facilities. Beautiful! I cannot complain about anything about our stay other than during check out. They charged me $324.26. I paid using direct debit while my wife was going over the bill and noted an error. They told me that they reversed the payment and then had me pay the corrected amount of $299.26. It's been 6 weeks since we stayed there and I'm still trying to get my money back as the $324.26 still has not been returned. Nice scam if you can get away with it. What a way to ruin an otherwise perfect visit. I see by other reviews I'm not the only one to experience this sort of thing so watch out.
