“Quirky!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

Great little place and very different from the normal motel. It's very clean and comfortable as you have to take your shoes off before going in. The rooms are small but big enough and the separate shower/washrooms are good and spotlessly clean. Michael is a great host and will give you the history of the lodge. WIFI is good and there is free coffee on tap. If you like something different, this is the place and you won't be dissappointed.

We were very surprised when driving into Watson Lake how expensive the hotels were. I guess when you are in the middle of nowhere, you can charge whatever you want. My advice... camp outside of Watson Lake.

But, if you do choose a hotel, this is a good one. It's the cheapest and while it's not fancy, it is impeccably clean (you leave your shoes at the front of the lodge). The bathrooms and showers are down the hall, but they are clean and nice. The rooms are simple, the walls are thin (you can hear your neighbors' conversations at a normal tone), and there are no amenities. But, the owner is very kind, helpful and did I mention that it's clean?

This place is spotless! If I had to stay in a hotel in Watson Lake again, this is where I'd stay. But, the prices make camping very appealing.

We stayed at the Lodge when we were travelling along the Alaskan Highway. The rooms are spotless as are the bathrooms. Free wifi which works! Michael is a very friendly and helpful host. Great spot to stop as it gives you an opportunity to visit the Northern Lights Centre and the Sign Post Forest. Breakfast is not included but you can get breakfast closeby.

Tis is the cutest place yet. Mike, the owner is the perfect person to run this hotel. He is very friendly, knowledgeable about this community and so accommodating! Tis is an extraordinary place to stay.

Room Tip: The bathrooms are spotless but on the hall.

Our family of 5 recently stopped off for one night on our way to AK from OR. The lodge rooms were small, but cozy and fully functional. The shower/bathroom facilities were great. Owner was exceedingly helpful and extremely friendly. The lodge provided everything you would want, without anything you don't need. We would definitely stop off again.

Ditto on Michael - an owner who takes pride and care in his establishment. It doesn't boast to be more than it is, but if you want a place to sleep without unpleasant surprises, it's a very good value. Internet worked. Only issue is the walls are thin if you have snoring or noisy neighbors.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 23, 2012

We had booked one night here enroute to Alaska but because of the 'big wash-outs', we were stranded in Watson Lake. Michael was an amazing host and was able to accomodate us for an additional night and we watched as he juggled his reservations (and guests) to literally 'make room at the inn' for as many people as he could during this crisis. We quickly realized Michael takes enormous pride in his lodge and its cleanliness and we were impressed with all aspects of this establishment. We reserved a room for our return trip and were greeted as old friends when we arrived back in Watson Lake. We would highly recommend this lodge to anyone who wants something unique. Don't forget to ask Michael about the lodge's fascinating history!
