“Hike it at night.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2013

Have made several trips around this scenic, 2.5 kilometre trail over the years and the vistas never get boring. The trail itself is well maintained and well marked.
To shake things up, hike the trail at night with only a headlamp on. The twisted, weather stunted trees become very eerie and "Sleepy Hollow" like under the wash of your light against a pitch black background. Bring you camera for some amazing pictures. Who knows, when you review your pictures back at your lodgings, there may be some eyes in the darkness glowing back at you.

Amphitrite Point Lighthouse is on the Wild Pacific Trail at Ucluelet,B.C. and is a wonderful stopping point on a terrific and scenic hike. The Trail is well maintained and accessible to the public from a near-by parking area.

“Worth a stop if you are on the trail”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2013

I would say the lighthouse itself is kind of ho-hum. The hike to get there makes the experience. The waves crashing on the rocks all around is amazing. Be sure once you climb the steps to turn around and waive at the camera so the people that are watching it on TV get a kick!

“Quite staid”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013

The lighthouse is a bit of a let down as it more of a featureless rotund on a gaggle of rocks. The interior is not open to the public. Meh, the main trail beside it beckons for a much better experience.

“A wonderful spot to storm watch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2013

The lighthouse is easily accessed and the views are wonderful. Bring a camera, something warm/dry to sit on (blanket) and sit on a bench and watch the waves roll in.
