“Slighty grungy old motel - but the price is right”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2011

OK - this is not a romantic setting. The hotel is old (but has been reno-ed). There is a sink and refrigerator in the room, as well as coffee maker. Our room's view was the parking lot and restaurant. I used to stay here years ago when my kids and I were surfers and arrived grungy from the beach. It has gotten older since then (and so have I).

The good parts: It is INEXPENSIVE and might just be the last place available to stay in Uclulet if you haven't planned ahead. If so, be assured that the door locks, the bathroom was clean, and the refrig froze everything we put in it (turn it down). We spent the day at the beach, ate out and fell into the good enough beds. I didn't feel bad that we might have tracked in some sand in our shoes. It's that kind of place. The TV did what TVs do. Given the price, I didn't mind the downside at all. Also the restaurant buffet featured fresh crab. Also for a very reasonable price. (One might note that a lot of locals eat there.)

The owners are nice and one can get ice in the restaurant to take to the room.

We were on a family vacation looking for a quite cheap overnight stay. We weren't looking for anything fancy just a bed and table but decent. We found this chinese owned motel for $80/night so we thought its the cheapest we could get around, well it was but...when we came to the room it was very big and unwelcoming poorly unfurnished almost prison-like and not clean at all, the windows !!! ugh!!! But hey, it was cheap so we swallowed that one. But the bed, sleeping on it was a nightmare, the mattress moved around and the sheets kept coming off with every move so you basically slept right on on the old dirty mattress.
And then to top it off was at night we were watching TV and suddenly our door opened and complete strangers came in saying they were given keys that its their room for the night!!! The owner messed up the schedule! Imagine if we were not in the room! Anything could get stolen and we wouldn't have a way to prove it. I had a laptop in there.
Mentioning the all night LOUD blabbering of the Chinese friends and family that were staying in most of the motel is just a cherry on the cake.

And finally when we went and complained the other day, the owner didn't even come to see us and some other employes barely speaking english just talked about what we said to them in Chinese and laughed right in front of us!!! No APOLOGY! This place is simply AWFUL and I recommend you pay the extra $20 have a nice clean room and ocean view.
