“Where do I start?!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2013

Right... Quotes from the website, and the truth:

"If you have booked direct with us, linen is provided and your beds will be made up ready for your arrival" - They weren't. I had to walk back to reception to get another bed made up as they chose to only make up one bed.

"Ashcroft Coast beach is just a 10 minute walk from the Park." - There is no way to get to the beach from the park.

"is in a stunning location, with a choice of two nearby sandy beaches" - The beaches are not sandy, and the location is certainly not stunning!

The Isle of Sheppey itself leaves much to be desired, as does Ashcroft Coast. The caravan was dirty. There were crumbs in the cupboards. The nearest beach was a 15 minute drive, and even then it was shingle. Disappointed with the site and the Isle. Very missold.

Just back from a fab weekend at Ashcroft! We can't fault it at all.. Our accomodation was clean, and comfortable. The kids loved the activities - Especially crazy golf & breakfast with Sparky the rabbit.
We spent our evenings in the club house which again was completly faultless. The food was lovely, and reasonably priced, the staff moved quickly so we didn't have a long wait to get served, and we all enjoyed the disco and arcade area. It's quite a small site so you never have to worry about the kids escaping, there's plenty to do both day and night. The staff are AMAZING - Especially Danny, Kelly, Jade, Lisa, Natalie, Joanna - These guys made our weekend. They were all so welcoming, and nothing was ever too much trouble.

Thank you Ashcroft.. We'll be back :)

This was a lovely little site with lots to do and things to see.
Ritchie, Spencer and Lauren the entertainment staff were brilliant, energetic and not only great with the kids but were great with the adults with things planned throughout the day for all. The caravan was clean and tidy and pretty much faultless. I would easily rate this 9/10 as the bar was expensive

Rented a private van so can't comment on accommodation but had to write to say the entertainment staff were best I've ever seen ! Ritchie and spencer worked so hard to make everyone welcome especially as there were so few people there as it was first week back of school ! Even in a power cut they continued to be professional and give it 100% we would go back just for them !

the caravan we `ve got was clean, well occupied with all the necessities .Was spacious and comfy for two adults and two teenagers.Swimming pool is quiet small and in the jacuzzi was dirty water with grey dregs floating in the middle. My kids been told they not allowed in the jacuzzi as they not 16,but then man took 5 yeas old with him there and that was fine with lifeguard. All holiday park seems designed for small children, especially entertainment. Kids program went on till 11p.m so just been sitting in the restaurant watching kids being entertain from 6 in the evening. If you coming later all seats are taken and you are having you drink standing with all kids running around. For my children was not much to do ,but they always happy to spent my money on arcades.
its was our first time at caravan park and unfortunately last one.If we ever would go again I would go for more up market one and consider entertainment as priority

The caravan looked nothing like the photos on the website. We had a few niggles - bundles of sheets thrown into the bottom of the wardrobe, the kitchen sink and drainer were covered in soap scum, the washing up bowl didn't fit in the sink, the draining rack didn't fit on the draining board, there were no pictures, no cushions, no fruitbowl. There was only one shelf in the oven. It was all very spartan and bare, and not all that clean. The hot water took ages to come through in the kitchen. There were broken windbreakers just thrown underneath the caravan - fire risk?. There was a large dip in the ground at the bottom of the stairs into and out of the caravan, which meant that the last step (or first) was very steep indeed and we considered this a risk hazard. We do not believe that we had the quality of caravan that we paid for. The toilet roll holder in the en-suite came apart on the first evening and to be fair, this was rectified very quickly. The bundles of sheets though, remained where they were. The shop is miniscule and pointless. The entertainment was mostly computer-based, but we quite enjoyed it. You are not allowed to park next to your caravan, you had to be on the road, which could be quite a walk away. The staff were friendly and cheerful. We didn't eat in the restaurant but the meals looked good value for money. We felt that the caravans were very close together so you were very near to your neighbours. None of the caravans had terraces or balconies, so we couldn't sit out in the sunshine. Would we go there again? No.

Sorry to say this was not a good experience. Started with being kept waiting 15 minutes for the keys to our caravan due to cleaning overrun. Once we got inside the caravan it was clear it hadn't been properly cleaned, the carpets hadn't been hoovered & the hard floors hadn't been swept never mind washed. To make matters worse there was a really strong smell of chinese takeaway food. Although the caravan met the specification for gold plus - double glazing & central heating - it was small & not of the same standard we have had on our 3 previous holidays with park resorts at other locations. Having expressed our dissatisfaction we waited over half an hour for the accomodation manager but he/she did not appear. To her credit the girl on reception did resolve the matter by allocating us a different caravan which was clean & larger.
The Isle of Sheppey unfortunately has nothing to offer as a holiday destination & the holiday park is situated off a single track road on the far side of the island, so some distance to any amenities. We use the holiday parks as a base only to visit locations in the surrounding area so this was not an issue for us but if you want a beach holiday with minimal travel, go somewhere else.
