“A perfect place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2011 via mobile

An ancient village house very nicely refurbished and decorated by the owners who welcome you as if you were friends visiting them . Rooms are very well designed , very comfortable with large and modern bathroom . We had the largest room with 3 windows overlooking the " British Provence " garden and the swimming pool . A perfect
queen size bed , beautiful furnitures and a huge bathroom with Italian shower and a central large bath tub. Very good breakfast too .
Would be difficult to find something to criticize . Certainly the place to select when in Carcassonne area .

From the moment we entered the house, Rachel and Anthony (and Bella) made us feel as welcome as if we were friends; indeed, by the time we left we felt like friends. They were both such perfect hosts – attentive to our every need. Nothing was too much trouble and there was always a fine cup of Yorkshire tea (or indeed any other tea you care to mention!) or coffee on hand.

This beautiful house has been refurbished to an exceedingly high standard – rooms are clean and bright and tastefully furnished, all with en suite bathrooms (and great showers!). It really is luxury accommodation and the two double bedroom suites on the top floor in particular are a bit special. The pool, the lovely garden and a large bright sitting room add to what is the perfect place to stay to enjoy this region.

Unusually perhaps for a B&B, they offer dinner four times a week (lunch is also available on request). This is an opportunity you must not miss – better value and better quality than most local restaurants for miles around, and no need to drive home! It’s a no brainer!

Anthony prepares the most delicious 4-course dinners that are balanced, creative and take account of any special dietary requirements (and believe me, between us – we must have been a right pain on that score!). His enthusiasm, both for cooking and the wines to accompany our meals, was positively contagious and Rachel made sure that our every whim was administered to! My overriding memories are of mellow evenings, sitting on the terrace enjoying a glass of Crémant, Viognier or even a dessert wine (to which he successfully converted me!).

I can’t recommend Maison Laurent highly enough, though it pains me to do so (for fear that they will always be fully booked) – but why would you stay anywhere else?

Room Tip: The two double bedroom suites on the top floor are amazing, esp the bathrooms!

I was treated to this stay by my mother, and I have to say it was possibly the best birthday present ever! Stunning rooms, gorgeous ambience and generous hosts who know how to make you feel welcome - not to mention their talents in the kitchen! The food was so good we rarely left the building... The pool was clean without being heavily chlorinated, and the overall vibe of Maison Laurent is one of peaceful luxury. I can't recommend it highly enough.

The house and rooms have been finished to an extremely high standard, the hosts are very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast is just right. Garden is beautifully designed and a very pleasant place to spend the evening with a bottle of the local fizz.

We didn't have the evening meal but it smelled lovely and tasted same based on a review from a fellow guest over breakfast. If you are there on a night that the evening meal isn't available or fancy a drive out the nearby Chateau du Cavanac is worth a visit.

As I celebrate yet another birthday here in sunny Lancashire, I have wonderful memories of the fabulous milestone birthday I spent at Maison Laurent ,exactly 1 year ago with a group of close friends as Anthony and Rachel's first guests! They made our stay absolutely fantastic. We ate beautiful food prepared by Anthony and Rachel and drank great wine! I have since returned this year in May to celebrate my husband's birthday - I also took him along! Congratulations to Anthony, Rachel and Bella on the first anniversary of Maison Laurent. You have created a fabulous Chambre d'Hote which we are sure will go from strength to strength for a very long time to come. Maison Laurent has a charm of its own, friendly and accommodating hosts, wonderfully luxurious but still homely. I cannot recommend it more highly!

Just returned from a relaxing 5 day break at this fabulous boutique bed and breakfast located in the charming village of Pieusse. Anthony, Rachel (and Bella the spaniel) were the perfect hosts and ensured we had great time, nothing was to much trouble. The bedrooms are beautifully furnished and immaculately clean, the outside patio is an ideal venue to sample the top quality food prepared by Anthony and the pool area is a perfect place to relax after a days sightseeing.

Don't miss the wine tasting and lunch at the Gayda vineyard and make time for a visit to the castle and medieval city at Carcassonne.

Highly Recommended, can't wait to go back.

A group of eight friends stayed here for seven nights in this delightful accomodation. Our rooms were tastefully furnished to the highest standards. Our en-suite bathroom was modern (wet room shower, double wash basins, roll-top bath.) Definitely all mod-cons.

Anthony and Rachel are perfect hosts. Breakfasts on the terrace and dinners eaten under the stars with cuisine of the highest standard and a well chosen wine list to complement our meals

The hot weather was not a problem, because Maison Laurent is fully air-conditioned and the swimming pool in the garden was well used (as indeed werethe sun loungers )which we were invited to use throughout the day. If wet weather there's a comfortable lounge with well stocked library.

We thought it was all we could wish for AND TERRIFIC VALUE FOR MONEY!
