This is a hidden gem in the Surrey/White Rock border area that you would never know was here until you ventured into the hotel. This place was once a The Pantry franchise restaurant but now renamed albeit not refurbished, it serves up decent sized portions of reasonable food at fairly good prices. The service is absolutely stellar and it's worth going just for coffee if you aren't hungry just to chat with the friendly and courteous wait staff. The Mexican Wrap was overstuffed with veggies and cheese and although it could have used a bit of chicken or beef to round out the taste, it was very good and the mound of home fried potatoes were remarkably crusty and delicious. The detractions? The plastic plants could use a dusting and/or a replacement with real plants, although the latter might have trouble surviving in the chlorinated atmosphere. Yes, this is the great advantage and problem with this place. The setting in the indoor atrium overlooking the cave-like pool is wonderful and can carry you to memories of hanging out in the Caribbean, the chlorine smell permeates your nostrils and really ruins the entire experience of enjoying the excellent food. PLEASE, hotel management, change your water disinfectant to something that doesn't ruin this restaurant!!!
