“Ok for 1 night ONLY”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2013

Well an interesting stay.
On the good side the place was very inexpensive and there are good Indian food not to far away.
On the down side
-people stopping asking for smokes
-street girls working the area
-room was not very clean at all
-the toilet had a noisey pump that sounded like a train all night.
-forget the restaurant there and GO OUT! although the beer is cheep.
-soe of the Desk staff spend more time on personal business on the internet and I felt like I bothered them.

Finally think twice about this hotel

Room Tip: Perhaps stay 1 night or get another hotel

Firstly, i had previously reported that the Eaves was falling off. I had read the reviews a few weeks later and it was reported again, so it seems it was not repaired, a safety issue. The room i stayed in had debris down the sink drain that could be cleaned out, and there was one wall receptable was not working. The restaurant should get new ceiling tiles and there roof repaired as it does not show well. All minor issues that should be resolved, however i did have a good nights sleep.

This is a basic property with nice rooms and a good rate. The location is at the quieter end of King George Highway which is a very busy road. Clean room, Wifi worked good, 2 pods of coffee with the coffee maker, good service. Last year I stayed at the highly rated Surrey Days Inn and it was fine but this time its rate was way too high in my opinion (probably due to "Ratings Inflation"). The Econo Lodge was an excellent alternative at a reasonable rate and I would stay there again.

I was responsible for accommodating close to 80 guests attending a convention here in Vancouver, BC and decided to go with Econo lodge in Surrey considering proximity to our convention site and best rate provided by this hotel. I was expecting an average service but was pleasently surprised to see all rooms had a tv, cable, internet, fridge, microwave and coffee maker and most importantly staff did an excelllent job to make my guests feel at home. Front desk staff and manager was courteous and helpful, since our stay was longer even house keeping did a good job keeping rooms and hotel clean and it was greatly appreciated by my guests. Hotel had an easy access just off 64th exit on a major higway making it easy to commute in all directions reducing travel time to our convention site and also going for sight seeing including white rock beach, city centre and wonderful Rodeo fair on Victoria day long weekend. I could say that I have found a good ecnomical hotel for our future visits with all the basic facilities without breaking my bank. Way to go Econo Lodge!!

We stayed here to sleep as we were coming into Vancouver from out of town for a flight the next day. Picked because of its location (easy to get to off the highway and on the edge of Vancouver), it was perfect for what we wanted. I can't comment about the neighbourhood other than to say it is right on a main route, easy to find...the room was clean, comfortable and check-in/out was simple. Exactly what was expected.

The only reason I am giving this hotel 2 stars is because the woman who checked me in was courteous, professional, competent, accommodating and just wonderful. The elderly gentleman who checked me out was also very kind and made sure to give me mapquest directions. The front desk staff was wonderful!

The entire hotel needs to be deep cleaned. The carpet of the entire hotel is disgusting, stained, worn, and so smelly.

My hotel room was also in desperate need of a deep cleaning. The chair and ottoman had several palm sized stains and also semen stains.

The walls had stained, the tub and shower were not clean, more semen stains on the bed cover.

The bed sheets were clean!!!! I arrived very late and just wanted to nap before my trip in the morning so I did not complain to anyone. I don't really know what they could have done really because my room smelled like rotting meat. But so did the hallway and I had no confidence that another room would have been any cleaner.

I would never stay here again!
