“Great Hotel and perfect location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2013

We were blown away by this modern, clean resort which displayed some amazing nature photography throughout the hotel. Our room was on the 2nd floor and overlooked the beautiful boardwalk and beach. A real bonus was having the recreation centre attached!! We enjoyed the pool area with the hot tub, water slide and again beautiful view of the waterfront. Would have loved to used the other facilities (squash, gym etc) but didn't have time. The breakfast that was included was standard toast, bagels, muffins although it did include some pastries and waffles. I was pleased that I was able to make myself a fancy latte tea. Loved having a microwave and fridge as well. The only down side was that the coffee maker at breakfast was having some issues and we had to keep unplugging it to reset the computer. No complaints here though.

The recent renovations of the rooms is great. All have flat screen tvs, contemporary design furniture and nice bathrooms. Our room on the ground floor waterfront was great for watching the kids on the beach whilst sitting on the patio. This place has far more charm than a holiday inn! Roosters next door also do room service.

Room Tip: Ground floor waterfront

I have been travelling to New Liskeard since 2004 on business and the Waterfront was my only choice for hotel. It is very nice, especially the rooms with the lake view and modern. The service had always been good and the restaurant was a nice complement.

However, when the owner took possession of all the main hotels in N.L. (Quality Inn, Econo Lodge, Waterfront and Holiday Inn), the prices went from reasonable (90-110/avg) to disgraceful (147$/night avg). It even costs more than the Holiday Inn Express!!!!!!! I tried to reason with the duty manager who would not allow corporate rates for the Waterfront or the Holiday Inn.

It is highway robbery in my opinion and have since switched to the local Bed and Breakfasts. They are comfortable, affordable and come with a nice breakfast. From Thumbs Up to Thumbs Down!!

I stayed at the Waterfront Inn for three nights last week and was extremely impressed with every aspect of this hotel! It started with a friendly greeting when I checked in and the staff continued to live up to that standard throughout my stay. The room was very clean, spacious and freshly renovated, with a beautiful view of Lake Temiskaming just steps from my own private little deck. There was even a small area with a frig, coffee maker and microwave, which I find very handy for in-room snacks. The bathroom was well-appointed with Aromatherapy products, an unexpected luxury! I slept very well thanks to the quiet atmosphere and the super comfortable bed. I must also mention the shower - great water pressure (not like those annoying water-saver ones) - and a shower curtain that stays nicely in place.
When I researched the hotel before travelling, the website did not mention breakfast, but there is a lovely little breakfast room with a nice assortment of foods to get you off to a good start. Rooster's Restaurant is on site as well for lunch or dinner. The property is one block from downtown and some charming shops.
I loved this place!

Room Tip: Lakeside rooms are terrific!

Our family stayed here recently on a short visit to New Liskeard. I was nervous after reading some negative posts but that feeling quickly disappeared at check-in. This place has been recently renovated and is bright, clean and comfortable. The interior is on par with a Holiday Inn or Comfort Inn. Staff is super friendly and very accommodating. The Rooster restaurant on site was delicious and had a great variety. It's connected to a fitness centre complete with pool, etc. It is next door to the hockey arena, Tim Horton's is a one minute walk away as well as the LCBO. The Waterfront Inn was truly a pleasant surprise.

Very nice. Just renovated. Very clean. Contemporary furnishings, everything is brand new. Beds are comfortable. Can't see the lake as it is snowing. Walk to Tim Hortons and liquor store. Would highly recommend.

I have stayed here a few times over the past 20 years and always have a comfortable stay. My single complaint would be that the decor in the lakefront penthouse suite hasn't been given the same modern renovation so beautifully done in the lobby.
