After spending one night at our pre-arranged accommodation and being made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome the owners, we resolved to rescue the rest of our trip by staying somewhere else. Moulin de Rabion was a lucky find on TripAdvisor and we couldn't have been more thrilled with where we ended up.
Steve and Tina were incredibly warm and welcoming from the outset, and sympathetic to our situation. As two couples, we stayed in the top floor apartment which was perfect for us with a lovely double and twin room at the very top of the château.
Tina was kind enough to do dinner at very short notice for us on the first evening, and we were greeted with what was unanimously voted by our party as 'the best cheese board ever'! Dinner was lovely and very filling, while the grounds lend Moulin de Rabion to being the perfect place to unwind with a couple of bottles of wine and some ferociously contested card games.
Tina and Steve do an amazing job of putting their abundant space to good use, and have pigs, donkeys, goats, chickens and an adorable dog Molly, all of which their encourage you to interact with (I can only image this would be a great draw-card for kids!)
We couldn't have been happier with our stay, and encourage anyone looking for a lovely hideaway in the Loire Valley area to investigate this find further. Thank you Tina and Steve for an amazing couple of days, we're only sad that we didn't book your lovely B&B in the first place!
