Betty and the Brittoner, what a great slice of Newfoundland! The Brittoner is conveniently located across from a lovely garden, next to a cafe, ample parking across the street.and the view at breakfast is to a small lake (or maybe it was a tidal arm of the sea) and only a block or 2 from the bay.
Brigus is a close knit town with beautiful seascape and buildings As we were driving into town I stopped and asked some ladies on the street for directionswigh they supplied along with a chat about where the BEST blueberry cobbler and chowder in town was(right next door to the Brittoner) I had chosen to go to the dinner theater that evening and at the last minute tried and get a second ticket for my mom. The star of the show called Betty to get a hold of us as well as communicated with her to secure another ticket. Betty was so helpful with acquiring and picking up the second ticket and before we got the ticket had already made arrangements with one of the local restaurants for mom for dinner including picking her up after wards as I would be at the theater. We had the room with 2 beds which was plenty spacious and the bathroom ... it had an original claw foot tub wonderful to lay and relax in. Breakfast was delicious with everyone served at one table so there was interaction with the other guests. Fabulous period home with a history of being the whole building and then split to accommodate the son and his new bride and family. If you are only planning an overnight in Brigus, think again as you should change that to 2 or 3 to fully enjoy the people and scenery.
