To start I would like to say that this is my favorite hotel to stay at.. I have stayed many times, with few if any complaints..
The stay before this stay the hotel double charged me and for two weeks had over $500 of my money. It was not until a credit card statement came that my fiancee and I noticed and called the hotel.. We were told "sorry, a front desk staff made an error", almost another week went by before the money was returned to our credit card...
Still rooms are gorgeous, staff generally friendly and well with a spa connected well lets just say i am sold...
My last stay however may be cause for me to find a new fav hotel...
Upon check inn I inquired if i may extend my stay an extra day as I had a very important business meeting scheduled for later then check out the next day.. FDS informed me that was not an issue and she would add it to the computer..
The next day all is well and I am preparing for my boss to arrive for our scheduled meeting which is to be a conference call.. it is about 1 pm.. my nerves are running high, this conference call can potentially make or break my career... theres a knock on my door.. its house keeping wondering why I have not checked out.. hhrrmm ..I explain that I made arrangements to extend my stay and thank her. .. 10 minutes later another knock.. it is HKS again, he would like to know why I have not checked out.. this time I was not happy and asked him to leave... I then went down to FD and they explained that the person who checked me in did not extend my stay...
In both cases where is the communication between staff members??
In the end thank goodness no one interrupted the call, they did however make me late for it as I knew I must deal with this before the call as I could not have any interruptions..
FDS informed me he would have to speak to the General Manager Jesse Tiefenbach regarding this matter..
The next day upon check out FDS informed me that Mr. Tiefenbach had decided that HKS was just doing their job.. Mr. Tiefenbach however would like to offer me a $20 discount..
I am APPAULED at this... First if they were doing their jobs why was it not at check out time and not at 2 pm...
Second- if you do not feel your staff did anything wrong then why offer a slap in the face like a $20 discount.. which I politely declined, I can only speculate how hard up said hotel is when thats how they offer to compensate a guest whos career was riding on a smooth meeting..
I feel Mr. Tiefenbach could care less about his guests.
Clearly there are huge areas of miscommunication in this hotel that need some serious addressing, however attitude does reflect leadership I am afraid..
Sad I need to write this review as you will see everything else has great ratings.. But to be treated
in such a manner by the GM.. Not OK.....

Our hotel does review and address these situations very carefully. Safety and security are our first and foremost concern, for both our guests and our staff.

I believe Home Inn & Suites would not be a good fit for your future accommodation needs based on your requirements in a hotel. Which, as I understand from the video footage and multiple staff written statements, are that employees of the hotel need to tolerate offensive behavior, no matter how abusive they feel the situation may be.
As a Hotel Manager, I hope you understand that I need to protect my staff and their integrity at the property and therefore, we would like to make the recommendation, that it is in the best interest of my staff and myself, to refer you stay at an alternate hotel for your upcoming accommodation needs in Yorkton, whenever they may be.
