“Wonderful place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2013

We stayed in a small suite for one night. The hospitality was surprisingly warm and welcoming. The room was warm and comfortable. The breakfast was very good, especially the homemade muffins. The gentleman managing the motel provided us with maps and gave us some great places to visit. It was truly a wonderful getaway for my husband and I. We plan on returning in the near future.

On our way home, we ended up staying at this motel because of heavy snow. Located next to the highway, it was a convenient choice. The bed was clean, warm, and cozy. In the morning we were provided with delicious home made muffins, fresh fruits, yogurt, and warm coffee. Also, the owners were extremely hospitable. My husband and I will definitely go back in the warmer seasons!

We stayed at this motel overnight on our way back home. It was more than what we expected for an overnight stay. Run by a sweet couple, offering a hospitable stay like you are their family. The room was nice and quiet in the newer part of the motel. It had everything you needed and more. We enjoyed the breakfast they serve- consisting of muffins, yogurt, fresh fruit, all kinds of bread and more. It was a nice treat before we headed for another long drive. We absolutely recommend this place for anyone. Would definitely stop by here again or make a trip down to the lake in the summer!

We stayed in a King room at the back of the property. The room was well equipped, clean and quiet. We had a few afternoon drinks on the patio outside our room - quite pleasant, but the outlook was a neighbour's 'rustic' backyard. In a small village like this, I half expected the property to overlook the lake. No such luck. There is access to the lake not far from the motel, but it was far from pleasant, squeezed as it was between two private properties. Best access to the lake is from a Provincial Park towards the other side of the village. The motel is on the outskirts of the village, necessitating a short drive for supplies and meals. We had a Thanksgiving dinner at the Pub. Breakfast was in a small room in back of reception and was quite nice.

great weather, great food , and an excelent place to stay , we went to Christina Lake for the weekend , and again stayed at the New Horizon Motel. Our room as alway was clean, fresh atmosphere, and full of amenities. we allways get the kitchen as its like being at home , you have the ability tomake your own meals or go out , except for breakfeast Daniel and Helena put on a great morning spread , gota try the hot muffins every morning (Banana nut ) so good , I think Helena must make them fresh every day , or mabye Daniel does ha ha. I love this place , friendly , great service , great prices, close to golf and sking for the winter , Red mountian only 50 min away and Phoenix hill (Grand Forks) 40 min . this will be a great place for us to stay during the ski season as well . Thanks Daniel and Helena for a perfect stay, see you soon

Room Tip: They have a new section and an original section. both are great but if you pefer more privacy get a...

This motel is clean, quiet and very comfortable. The owners are lovely and welcoming and take great pride in maintaining their property. I highly recommend it. Very good value! The rooms are spacious and clean. Bathrooms very clean with toiletries. Rooms have good air conditioners, small fridge with small freezer and blackout curtains. Carpets are spotless. We meant to stay one night we stayed for four!

Room Tip: On the second floor you will get less walk by traffic if you get a centre of the hall room as stairw...

Me and my boyfriend stayed here in July for two nights. We got the cheapest room (Queen standard) and it was still great. The reviews we read on here were spot on. It's an older motel but Daniel and Helen do a fantastic job of keeping it clean and updated. We saw a newer building behind us that I think were the suites. Daniel checked us in and being our first time to the area he told us all about the restaurants and recreational areas. He also suggested we go to Owl Mountain Ranch for some horse-back riding, which we did and was so much fun!

The first thing I always check is the bathroom, especially in older properties, and it was great. Clean, well-kept, well stocked (even had eye make up remover), tons of towels. The only thing is that the A/C wasn't as cold as we would have liked it to be. The breakfast included in the rate was delicious and every morning Daniel and his wife Helen are there to greet you with a warm freshly baked muffin. We ate at Kool-Treatz next door, good burgers/wraps/salads and lots of ice cream dessert choices.

Oh, and they asked both our names when we checked in, and every time we saw them afterwards they greeted us both with no hesitation!
