“Great InnKeeper”

Ok, so I was a little put out when upon arriving we were asked to remove our shoes before entering the house, little strange for a commercial establishment. The house is quite nice, our upstairs room(the one with the private bath) was very nice although a bit warm as there was no a/c other than the central air which was either set very high or just not on.
Now for the good parts, the view is awesome, if you want you can swim and sun on the private dock and the breakfast was the best we ever have been served at a B&B. Kathleen, the owner was just a wonderful person and made sure everyone at breakfast was engaged with conversation and enjoying the fabulous food.

Room Tip: Pick the room with the private bath and bring slippers so you don't have to walk around bare-foo...

This was our 3rd visit to the Sunflower Inn. It certainly will not be our last. Kathleen had a warm welcome for us. We love the quietness of the area, the view of the Lake is second to none! A perfect swim in the warm waters of the Lake can start or finish a perfect day. As B and B's go , this is our favourite by far. Thanks, Kathleen for a wonderful time in your lovely home.

Room Tip: All rooms face the Lake. They vary in size so check out the best one for your needs.

Good food and a nice log B&B on Lake Christina. Beautiful lake views from your room window. The absence of window treatments however ensure a very early start to your day. House rules require shoes be left at the front door. Bring indoor slippers for feet that ache when walking barefoot on wood floors. This is a good location from which to explore this quiet region during nice weather. During inclement weather we missed the opportunity to co-mingle with other guests on the outside deck and the spacious rooms eventually seemed confining.

I was on my way to Nelson in the spring and thinking I would get a Sandman there. When I saw Christina Lake it was a no Brainer to try and get a BnB. As it happened I was able to catch the last turn off to pull into the Sunflower. Kathleen was as warm and welcoming as her BnB. The place is right on the water which was a real treat. The huge deck right off the rooms is great for enjoying the view. The landscaping and care of the place in general was great. The room I had was spacious and clean. The breakfast in the morning was filling and got me through past noon. Overall, I would say you can't go wrong stopping in at the Sunflower. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Was here in the off season (early October 2012) so can't comment on high season, but it was beautiful when we were there. Rooms are large with a sitting area and the lower level rooms open onto a deck that is lake front - literally a few steps from the lake - which is of course absolutely beautiful. We just stayed overnight which was took bad because it looked like a place you could really settle in for a few days! The room was stocked with some quality books, movies and magazines. Very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful - fresh orange cranberry scones, frittata, fresh fruit. Only complaint was the coffee - we are very particular coffee people so like a good cup of strong starbucks type of coffee in the am - way too weak and not flavourable beans at all. Wondered about this because I saw an espresso machine on the counter? At any rate, I certainly wouldn't down rate the place because of that - coffee if our particular thing but probably not the general population! Highly recommend the place - would be perfect for a family get together.

Room Tip: Bottom level rooms have access to the lakefront

I decided to stay at the Sunflower Inn to enjoy BC a little bit more before I continue my journey back home to Montreal. It was fantastic. Great location, superb views, nice hikes and lots more. The sun deck was very relaxing. Huge and delicious breakfast. Very comfortable and cozy rooms. Super clean. Everything that you need is there. Had a great time !

Room Tip: All rooms are great, just depends on your needs and how many people you are.

We experienced a lovely and restful weekend at the Sunflower Inn - swimming & canoeing in the warmer waters of Christina Lake. The spacious room was quiet and what a gorgeous view to wake up to each morning! Delicious breakfasts prepared by owner Kathleen & served on the upper decks each morning, gave guests a opportunity to chat & swap tips on lazing away the last days of summer. Kathleen's suggestion of an impromptu bonfire on the beach for dinner was really fun and was just another example of her charming hospitality and willingness to make our stay memorable.
