“Superb resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

Stayed here for 4 nights and really enjoyed the stay. The 1 bedroom cabin that we had was big clean and really well fitted out. The view from the cabin was absolutely superb, lake and black bears, you can' t beat it. Staff were very helpful indeed , friendly and keen to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Talked to,some other visitors and they all said that they wished that they had booked a longer stay. It' s off the beaten track but don' t miss it, it' a gem!

The grounds and cabins were well maintained, lots of work went into planning every detail! They had canoes, kayaks, row boats, fishing equipment, volleyball, horseshoes, ping pong, hiking, games and hot tub. We ventured out and explored the surrounding area one day and spent an entire day and a half on site and could have stayed there for a couple more days without leaving! The staff was super friendly and curious, I felt very welcomed there. I would recommend this place to every age group - there is something for everyone!

It has to be said that his place needed to be good to justify the trek on rather hairy roads to reach it as its about 20k outside Clearwater on a windy gravel road that's slippery when wet. However it doesn't disappoint. The location once you get there is fantastic. Our only regret was not checking it out properly before arriving as the kitchen facilities were great in the cabins so we old have cooked for ourselves. The onsite restaurant facility is a little pricey. We say a black bear & cub while walking back to the cabin from dinner. Sat on the end of the jetty on the onsite lake watching the birds and generally did what the place is best equipped for - chilled out. Staff are really friendly, accommodation is great, spacious and comfortable. Wished we could stay longer although less you really want to be away from everything I don't recommend staying too long

Room Tip: Chalets in the 200 range are great for views of lake and possible bear sighting even if they re a li...

As previous reviews say it is a trek to get to Alpine Meadows - but it is so worth it. Stock up with all you will need before you get there and then relax, enjoy the scenery, lake and wildlife. The cabin we stayed in was excellent - two bedrooms each with its own bathroom, large lounge and well equipped kitchen. Sitting on the raised balcony watching black bears grazing just a few yards in front of the cabin - this surely is what makes Canada special. The lake is beautiful and there are boats and kayaks which are free to use. Buy a fishing licence and you can use the resorts rods to catch your lunch - we did. We went early season when the resort was quiet and it we wished we were staying longer than the two nights we had booked. We heard comments from several other parties whose disappointment was that they were only booked for one night in their itinerary, don't let your tour operator book this as a one night stop over - it is too good for that. Hosts were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Continental breakfast was supplied each morning in the boathouse restaurant and meals available on an evening if you don't want to cook. If you are looking for city life this won't be for you but for us it was perfect. In the summer don't forget to pack the insect repellent.

Good things come to those who wait! The drive in, up a gravel track is a bit worrying that you may have gone the wrong way but hang on in there and this hidden gem will appear. The cabins are really cool, the lake is stunning, free row boats and canoes and food is excellent.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2012

We stayed here for 2 nights and were very surprised about the beautifull bungalow we stayed in: bedroom, livingroom and bathroom were all very roomy and beautifully decorated. There is a lovely hot tub near the lake. The park is about 30 car minutes from Clearwater so not very centrally located.
We found the park restaurant (the boathouse) disappointing and expensive

Room Tip: I would suggest a cabin with cooking facilities

Our stay was much more than we could have hoped for. The accommadations were clean and roomy. Our 2 small dogs enjoyed the floor to ceiling windows so they could watch all the "happenings". The host & hostess (Wolfgang and Tracey) are so very friendly and make you feel at home - a part of the family. The food was absolutely fantastic. We will be visiting again in the spring with our family - they'll enjoy the boats, fishing, and walking trails..
