“Pictures look much better than it is in reality”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2012

Rooms are clean, comfortable, spacious and equipped to description - but nothing more. The shower is ancient, temperature can hardly be mixed, the shower head is missing completely. So having a shower is an adventure, if possible at all. Furniture is from the sixties (I do not really know the century). Anyway - even for only 65 CAD I would expect a little bit more.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2012 via mobile

Our room was fully equipped with cookware making it a perfect home base for an extended stay. With a few steps from the lake full of fish, the sounds of loons across the evening water and a few steps to the public beach we were very happy with location. The rooms are being updated, ours had dated fixtures but new paint and were immaculately clean. Plenty of pillows, blankets and towels, a toaster, coffee maker with coffee, cable tv, even dish cloths and soap. We were only passing through but have decided our next vacation will be here! If you are looking for quality on a budget this is definitely top choice.

Stayed here for one night traveling from Kelowna to Edmonton via the Yellowhead highway.

Check-in was swift, and the hotel didn't seem that busy but it had just opened for the season.

We had a larger room with, kitchenette, small sitting / dining room and a balcony with a great view over the lake. The rooms have recently been re-carpeted and redecorated, and some of the bathroom fittings (for example the shower) were also new. Some of the furniture in the sitting room together with the kitchen fittings were quite old and will need replacing at some point soon, but I'm sure the owners will get around to that in due course - and for an overnight stop it was fine.

I found the bed very comfortable, my wife thought it very uncomfortable - make of that what you will. It just proves how difficult it is to please everyone. Would I stay here again? Yes if I was passing through, but probably not for more than a night or two.

We came across this motel when we got to Clearwater. It is located right on Dutch lake which, as it turns out is an extremely warm lake. A supurb setting. The cabins are old, but very clean & the bed comfy. The new owners are graduallu renovating, and the cabins are well cared for. Free WIFI and cable television. We went & did the waterfalls in the National park nearby. Free use of kayaks, dingys & paddle boats, off their own jetty. A public wharf & swimming beach is immediately adjacent to the resort. Free BBQ as well.

Room Tip: All rooms have a lake view
