“Best wedding location!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2011

We were fortunate to have our wedding at Bonniebrook in June 2010, and returned this weekend to celebrate our first anniversary once again at one of our favourite spots on earth. After searching for months to find the perfect wedding venue, we found Bonniebrook to be the perfect fit. The property is the perfect setting for a wedding - exclusive beachfront property for our ceremony, and wonderfully comfortable yet elegant lodge, restaurant and suites. We have stayed in both the Oceanfront and Romance suites - the bedding and linens are to die for, and the finishings in the room second to none (my husband is a carpenter, so he knows his stuff!). Bonniebrook strives to have minimal impact on the environment at each corner, and we appreciated these touches for our wedding.

Lina and Mark made our wedding more than we ever imagined - we felt truly treated to an extraordinary weekend, and our families and friends still have not stopped raving about it. The food is the 'stuff of dreams' (scalloped potatoes are to die for, prawn skewers were amazing, and Lina makes a great marguerita), and the staff made us feel like royalty, without being intrusive. while we were off to our honeymoon, our families extended their stay! After a night of dancing we moved down to the beach for a bonfire where we re-heated some of the dinner leftovers that Lina had packed up for us - the perfect end to a wonderful day.

A truly magical spot made even more special by wonderful owners and staff. We (along with our families) will be returning again and again!

We spent a lovely weekend at Bonniebrook Lodge recently, we had an oceanview suite, and we felt in the lap of luxury. Gorgeous suite, beautifully decorated, view to die for, high quality linens on the bed and in the bathroom, not to mention the jetted tub right in our room. And right across the street was the ocean. The Lodge owns some of the beach and a lovely grassy area where we played our Native American Flutes in the warm sunshine. The restaurant offers lovely views and fine dining, which we thoroughly enjoyed. A wonderful stay.

Room Tip: Oceanview or garden view, both are lovely.

Our most recent stay at the Bonniebrook Lodge wasn't our first experience at this gorgeous retreat and will certainly not be our last. The rooms are lovely and not only met our expectations but exceeded them in every way. With a seamless combination of old world charm and modern luxury, no detail is overlooked. The rooms are spotless, warm and tastefully decorated. The beds and linens are exceptionally beautiful as are the specialty locally made soaps, shampoos and lotions. Complete with a warm fireplace, stunning views and the peaceful sound of the nearby brook, The Bonniebrook lodge is a very special place on B.C.'s spectacular Sunshine Coast. To top it all off, Chasters gourmet restaurant is conveniently located on the first floor of the inn making dining a beautiful, relaxing experience. I would not hesitate to recommend The Bonniebrook Lodge to anyone in need of a little sophisticated romance. The memories of our time at the Bonniebrook Lodge are lasting and inspiring.

Bonniebrook Lodge is a fantastic spot to get away for the weekend. It is feet from the ocean and our room was large, cozy and spotless. It is a little out of the way, but this is exactly what one hopes for a weekend getaway (and is really only about 10 minutes outside of Gibsons. My partner and I truly enjoyed eating fantastic a food and enjoying cocktails on their outside deck while watching the cruise ships pass in the distance. The Sunday Brunch was simply spectacular. The area is also a wonderful spot to walk along the beach and bike.
As luck would have it a mother bear and her cub were also on the Bonniebrook Lodge grounds when we arrived. You are truly not far from nature.
The owners bent over backward to make sure we had a great time.

We had our wedding at Bonnie Brook Lodge July 31st 2010 and couldn't have dreamed of a better day and location. The oceanside lodge was the perfect location for our special day and housed our whole family in comfort for the entire weekend. Everyone loved their rooms whether they had an ocean or garden view. The accommodation was cozy yet luxurious and had all the amenities needed for our special day. Not one detail was over looked by the staff and restaurant. Bonnie Brook Lodge will forever be in our hearts! Thank you!!

We stayed here during the winter olympics. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we were the only guests. What a shame that others were not willing to take the ferry. We stayed in the Romance Suite and just loved it. It is cozy, inviting and very romantic. The owners are extremely accomodating and assisted us with transport to Whistler. We highly recommend this lodge and will stay here again the future.

Our room was very nice, but please be aware that the Bonniebrook Lodge is no longer a "bed and breakfast" as flyers on the BC Ferries and ads in local travel magazines still indicate. That is, their restaurant is open on weekends and you can have breakfast there for an additional cost. Or a limited breakfast will be delivered to your room for an additional $11.50 each. The lack of a breakfast included in the cost made this seem an expensive choice to us. Also, the night we were there, no owner or employee was on the premises at all, just us and another family in a separate cottage. Although the owner left a number to call in case of problems, the lack of a human face and personal welcome didn't seem typical of the lodges and inns we've stayed in elsewhere. Positives: nice, comfortable room; quiet setting with ocean view; just a few miles from the center of Gibsons, not far from the Langdale ferry terminal.
