“Enjoyable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2013

We stayed for one night after making last minute plans to attend the Sugar Plum Fair in Alliston. Stevenson Farms is in a rural setting and quite historic. We stayed in a room that was equipped with a 2-pc bath, with a shower/bath down the hall. Since it was off-season, we were the only guests in this wing, so it didn't bother us at all. The furnishings are original and our room did not contain a dresser or anywhere to set things down, or a luggage stand. That's the only thing that I would have liked to have. his room was a bit cheaper than the suites and we would probably go for a more deluxe room next time. Friendly hosts and a tasty homemade breakfast. They are happy to accommodate special requests. We enjoyed meeting the other guests. Our rating for "swimming pool" reflects the hot tub, which we enjoyed.

Room Tip: To get a better room, pick one with an ensuite bath, one of the suites. They are much larger and be...

Charming, cozy, and welcoming, this place is exactly what a B&B should be. Our room was clean, comfortable and lovely, as was the rest of the house. It's spacious and filled with little vintage and antique treasures, which really lets you feel the history of the home.

The hosts are friendly but not overbearing, and were available when we needed them.

I'm a vegan, but if you eat eggs, they come straight from the happy, well cared for free range chickens that they keep. Can't beat that!

I would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Room Tip: The Elspeth Milne is spacious and charming.

We loved this farm. Everything about it. Food was delicious, prepared to perfection and presented with great taste. The owner/hosts were perfectly professional, attentive to our needs without ever intruding on our privacy. This B&B is a work in progress and some areas of the house were underconstruction when we were there, but nothing detracted from the overall tranquility and loveliness. My husband, who typically does not sleep well, enjoyed a peacful eight hour sleep each of the four nights we spent here.

Room Tip: Peruse the photos offered online and make your choice based on particular needs. For us the rooms wi...

We have stayed here twice now in the last 8 months and this building has a lot of history. The present owners have spent a lot of time and money in returning this to former glory. If you are looking for modern facilities forget it, this has quirks and is not perfect but gives you an idea how our predecessors lived. Old fashioned plumbing etc. So you will get the odd tap dripping. We come here because it is an attractive property with great hosts. Breakfast is cooked to order and the milk is purchased from a local dairy. I haven't tasted milk like that since I was a child.

Room Tip: Get the Jean Corrigan room well worth the extra money

Stayed at Stevenson's over a weekend. The house was old, beautiful, and well maintained. The grounds are large and beautiful. Price was great. Bed was very comfortable and showers had plenty of hot water. Breakfast was amazing and filling. It felt like I stayed with family or friends for the weekend.

My wife and I passed through town for a nearby wedding, and we were very grateful to have found this place. The building was very old, built in the 1830's, and had plenty of old-fashioned charm. The grounds were beautiful and spacious. The breakfast was amazing. I ate a fresh-baked muffin that I will dream about for weeks. They source most of their dairy from a nearby farm, so everything is incredibly fresh. Sue and Stephen are excellent hosts, and they made every effort to make themselves available. We were planning to get in very late on Friday, and they had left a note with directions so that we could help ourselves in and get settled. Unfortunately, we did not actually get in Friday night because of a delayed flight and a closed rental car location (I highly recommend that you do NOT fly into YTZ). Sue and Stephen, unprompted, only charged us for the night that we stayed. We were very appreciative, and wanted to share our experience because we feel it speaks highly of the care with which they treat their guests. My wife and I left Stevenson Farms feeling very relaxed--we only wish we could have stayed there for both nights as we had planned!

Room Tip: The Elspeth Milne room was lovely. Friends of ours stayed in the area with shared bathrooms, and the...

We have stayed at Stevenson's farm many times and whenever we get a chance to go away and relax this is the place. The history, Charm, Great breakfasts, the quite and piece that surrounds this home is wonderful. We just love it here.
The owners are wonderful people and always make you so comfortable and always feel welcome. We would highly recommend everyone to go to Stevenson's Farm and enjoy everything that it has to offer.
