“Nothing beats Days at the Lake B&B!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2014

My husband and I stayed at Days at the Lake B&B for our first anniversary. This was our first experience at a B&B and it was phenomenal. We were spoiled rotten by Wendy and Stephen. We stayed in the Oh So Suite room and it was lovely.

The night we arrived, we asked to have a bonfire as we weren't sure if the weather would permit one the second night. Stephen asked us what time we wanted it and had it burning brightly when we arrived at the pit. We sat by the fire with them and chatted and enjoyed the beautiful night.

The next morning, Wendy had freshly brewed coffee ready for us so we could enjoy it by the dock for a bit before our fantastic gourmet breakfast. The food was delicious and the presentation was beautiful.

After breakfast, we explored the immaculate gardens and had so much fun watching nature. There was no shortage of animals and birds to watch. We then ventured down to the dock where we spent the rest of the day. There is a little beach area beside the dock. The water was the perfect depth and temperature and the lake was just right in terms of activity and boat traffic. We took the paddle boat out and explored the surrounding area a little - we were pleasantly surprised at how well the paddle boat worked too!! There were pool noodles, life jackets, water loungers and regular loungers, kayaks and canoes available for use. This B&B felt like a peaceful and relaxing resort!

Wendy and Stephen have done a fantastic job at creating a place that is peaceful and yet full of things to do as well. They are wonderful hosts and by the end of our weekend, we felt like we were family and didn't want to leave.

We definitely will return and would recommend this B&B to anyone! It is completely worth every penny.

We booked at Days at the Lake B&B for our first anniversary because we love the Muskokas, and the reviews/ratings for it were hard to beat.
Wendy and Stephen definitely lived up to the high reviews plus much more. They were more than accommodating, going above and beyond for us on our special weekend. After a two day stay we feel like we have made new friends in them. They are perfect B&B hosts that are caring and kind.

The grounds are immaculate. You will not find such beauty at any other B&B in the area for the price. The gardens are amazing, and the wildlife outside will keep you entertained for hours. It is perfect for birdwatchers. The lake is perfect. Deep but warm, and quiet, with low boating traffic. Being close to Gravenhurst and a Highway I was concerned about noise, but those concerns soon washed away with the sounds of the lake, and birds singing. Its a perfect location because its close to amenities, but feels like you're in the woods at a private cottage.

Wendy and Stephen have done a great job at this place, and my wife and I highly recommend this B&B. We cant wait to go back! Thanks for making our 1st Anniversary so special :)

Ian

Wendy and Steve have a great place here in the centre of Muskoka but away from the busy lakes.
First class facility, great hosts, good food. If you are looking to get away from the city and from what most of Muskoka has become, this is the place!
And if you are in the mood for a new pillow, Wendy has them for sale. Great bonus!

This was our second stay at "Days at the lake" but our first summer visit. It was perfect with the gardens in bloom and the lake inviting. The rooms are very comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. Steve and Wendy are the perfect hosts with an amazing resort. If you looking for perfect getaway with hot tub, lake, lake toys and beautiful grounds this is the place. As a big fan of breakfast I was very impressed. Do yourself a favour and give it a try!!

Room Tip: Its a very quiet location. All rooms are well appointed, just a choice if you want a private bathroo...

Days at the Lake B&B Retreat is a great place for a holiday, be it longer or just one night, as we - unfortunately! -had. We received the best suggestions from our host Wendy on how to make the most of our 2 day stay, whether for hiking trails nearby, things and places to look at or the best restaurants for dinner. The house is beautiful, the rooms decorated with taste. We loved the different outdoor areas: a patio amid a lovely garden, a little deck overlooking the lake and another one right next to the lake. Kayaking before breakfast is a great way to start the day! The breakfast was delicious. Wendy is a wonderful cook, a great host , open, warm, and Stephen is very funny! We´d come back without hesitation!

A home away from home: Wendy is a great host - taking good care of us during our stay. She not only cooked delicious and very creative breakfasts, served freshly made smoothies and also offered their outdoor hot tub for a relaxing evening.

Cayaking at Pine Lake was a great experience - trying to escape from the mosquitos that were almost everywhere during this time of the year.

Gravenhurst is just 'around the corner' - offering nice restaurants and plenty of opportunity to watch boats on Lake Muskoka walking along the waterfront.

This B&B is beautifully decorated, with landscaped grounds and a small private beach area. We very much enjoyed sitting outside, watching hummingbirds and chipmunks, which we do not have in Germany - our home country.

A day trip to Algonquin Park via Huntsville complemented our stay: we were lucky to watch three female moose when crossing the park on the only through road.

We can definitely recommend this accommodation for a relaxing stay at the countryside - only 90 minutes from Toronto / 2 hours from Pearson International Airport.

SO WONDERFUL! Wendy and her husband Steve are the perfect hosts so happy that I got to known them.
I usually have a hard time adjusting to other people bed and pillow but I didn't have any problem with the amazing bed Wendy has. Feel a sleep like a baby.
Like I mention in my pervious post Wendy make the best breakfast every. It so good that I have breakfast withdraw. Can't find any breakfast place in Toronto that make foods as good as Wendy.

The view is amazing right in front of the lake.....take the paddle boat out and relax for the day.
The best place to escape to relax and enjoy nature. I can't wait till return again.
