“Best B&B ever”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2013

We stayed at Robin's B&B on September 19th.My sister and her husband had stayed there this summer, and we went with them this time. The house is very beautiful, tasteful. The decor makes you feel right at home.
Robin is very professional, yet very down to earth. He stayed with us for a drink in his beautiful back yard.at supper time.He recommended different places to have supper.I love dogs and he had two retrievers, very friendly and well mannered.
I can,t say enough about the bedrooms. He has 2 very modern ,big bedrooms upstairs, equipped each with bathrooms, one in one room, the other just outside, beautiful, like an expensive hotel.A coffee pot, complimentary fruits ,chocolate, bars. We even had a menu to choose for the breakfast the next morning. And what a breakfast it was.All made by him, fresh as can be and each our own French press coffee pot.He sat with us wich I really loved.
This man knows how to welcome guests and a plus is his accent from England that we really loved.
Keep up the great work Robin. We'll be back. Jackie & Paul

Room Tip: There are only 2 bedrooms but both of them are great.

Read through the reviews here and you might think it would be impossible for the Wellshire to live up to these fabulous ratings. But it does. The host, Robin, rebuilt the house after a fire with the same historic exterior, but with a modern, beautiful interior. The decor is opposite the usual fussy B&B style. Instead there's beautiful art (some painted by Robin himself) and simple modern decor.

The breakfasts are stellar. Robin gives you three choices - pancakes, smoked salmon and a full English. Everyone in our group tried the all and they were all A+ quality. The smoked salmon, especially, was the best breakfast on our Nova Scotia trip. Robin's a great host, talkative but not imposing. He's funny and charming.

There are only two rooms, both have bathrooms but one has the bathroom down a short hall. Still, it is private (and you get bath robes and slippers). Very nice.

The beautiful outdoor garden and friendly dogs just made the whole place perfect. This place is a real find.

Room Tip: The B&B is at a high point in Lunenburg, close to restaurants but a bit of a trek down to the sh...

We stopped at Lunenburg during our honeymoon trip to the Altlantic Provinces. It is an amazing spot – beautiful architecture, colorful heritage houses, a marvellous view over the bay, and plenty of good food. Even more amazing is the Wellshire B&B. The beautiful and newly-refurbished heritage building left us truly gobsmacked. It looks and feels like a 5-star-hotel but offers the privacy (and rates) of a B&B. Robin is a truly wonderful host who pays a lot of attention to detail. This way a simple stay in the town turned into a perfect holiday for us. We felt very special and fortunate to having been able to stay at the Wellshire.

The breakfast is abundant and delicious. For those who enjoy a savoury breakfast, the Wellshire lox is a perfect choice. Those who prefer something sweet should try the freshly made pancakes with maple syrup. Even a full English breakfast is to be had! And everything is homemade.

If we make it to Nova Scotia a second time we'll stop at the Wellshire, for sure. The only negative thing about the Wellshire grew from our own mistake: to have enjoyed the comfort for only one single night before heading towards Halifax.

The Wellshire B & B is in a class of its own. The house is beautiful and spotlessly clean with a lovely garden and fish pond outside. We stayed in Room #1, which is large and includes an ensuite bath. The amenities are too numerous to list - sufficient to say that Robin has thought of everything and more.

We thoroughly enjoyed the top notch breakfast and conversation with Robin and our fellow guests. The only regret is that we couldn't stay longer.

Don't hesitate to book a stay here - summer or winter, you will not be disappointed.

If you are planning a trip to Lunenburg, stop what you are doing and book this beautiful B&B! Robin is a great host and makes you feel at home from the time you walk in the door of this brand new character reproduction home. His attention to detail is evident in all areas of the house. My husband and I spent 2 nights in room #1 which is very spacious with a beautiful ensuite bath including robes, slippers, and all toiletries. The room itself is huge with tv, tassimo, snack bars, and a big closet and dresser. The bed is super comfy, we slept with the window open so we could hear the gurgling of the koi pond below. Breakfasts were made to order and were delicious, and we loved visiting with Robin while we enjoyed his cooking. There is a beautiful flower garden/pond which we enjoyed for the short time we were there. This will be our home away from home next time we are in the Lunenburg area. Keep up the great work Robin!

All I can say is that our stay here was such a lovely one! Our host, Robin, was a joy to spend time with over coffee at breakfast, after he prepared it! You'll be so surprized at the offerings, absolutely plentiful and scrumptious! Being a huge coffee drinker, I must say, you had your own coffee press!
Our room was so comfortable. I loved the mattress, slept better than at home! He had a Tassimo coffee machine, fruit, and a jar of granola bars besides the bottles of water in the mini refrigerator. You wanted for nothing! In the bath there were robes and slippers hanging in case they were needed, along with all the bathroom necessities.
It is a beautiful stay, the house is done in modern design, and there are even some of Robin's art on the walls. The gardens are beautiful, a lot of work to keep them so!
All I can say is, "Thank You Robin for all the work you've done, and for the great stay you provide for your guests! We hope to see you again next year!

Robin has a real gem, very well decorated and is very friendly and easy to talk too. The location is very good as well as we walked the town. Breakfast was amazing my husband had the smoked salmon and I had the eggs and bacon. As for supper we were a 10 mins walk away from the Knot Pub which also has great food.
