This museum and town was very interesting, very old buildings and beautiful architecture. They have a restaurant at the museum that the food was fantastic.

“great visit, can take all day!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

way too much information to absort quickly, we only had two hours. So, we took the free tour which takes about 30 minutes...all the information and back stories you can "eat"! Great guide! we didn't have time, but they have participating activities all day long. Had time after the tour to look at the tide touch pool where they have mussels, starfish etc that you can handle. The boats they have on display are amazing...a schooner, a modern fishing tug, wheelhouse and captains cabin from a working fishing boat, and a modern fiberglass fishing boat. Wheelchair access, senior discount, CAA discount, Family rates, great gift shop.

We are thrilled you had an enjoyable visit while at the Fisheries Museum. We often hear from our visitors that they could have spent the entire day, which is a true compliment. For future visits, please keep in mind that if you arrive late in the day and do not have the chance to see everything, arrangements can be made at the Admissions Desk for you to complete your tour the next day, if your travel plans allow. Take care!

“Learning is fun”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013

The museum has several very informative displays, including ships to board and explore, exhibits where you can touch the ocean creatures, and watch displays and movies. A very good choice for those with children, as well as those who live inland.

Interesting if you like museums. I guess it just wasn't our thing. Easy to find, in the center of town. Has a ice cream shop and nice gift shop inside.
