“Great Get-away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2013 via mobile

We decided to have a romantic get-away for the weekend, so we decided to go Mt Tremblant. We always have a great time there! Normally we stay at the Fairmont, but my wife wanted to try something a bit different. I was a bit aprehensive, but we rented a Studio apartment at Place St Bernard. It turned out to be an excellent decision. We arrived early, and our room was ready. It was a clean, comfortable room that overlooked the cobblestone walkway, close to everything. The kitchenette has everything you will need to prepare a meal (if you choose). In the evening we sat on the balcony with a bottle of wine and enjoyed the music in Place St Bernard. Wonderful evening. On clearing out of our room, we forgot my suit jacket and one of my wife's shirt. We called the next day and they put us in contact with the lost and found. They promptly Purolatored out our items. I must say, we will no longer stay at one of the Hotels in Tremblant. This is how to enjoy Tremblant to the fullest..amongst the action.

spent a saturday and saturday night/sunday morning in July at Place St Bernard.
made a reservation on the phone - promptly, quickly, easily.
even though was informed checkin was around 3pm, we showed up on Saturday morning at about 10am and the room was ready! Perfectly functional room - AC was working, TV was working, all the electrical. nice that there were some dishes/cutlery, but we didn't even look at the kitchen. We went straight to the beach club and hung out at the beach. The chairs get filled up quickly. Also, important to know to take your own towel to the beach - they don't have there.
Water was cold, but not as bad as in maine. Water was also very very clean. A great day in the sun.
One thing to note about the Air Conditioning - the thermostat is on a remote control. If you just click on the remote on, off, or change temperatue, it won't work, UNLESS YOU POINT IT AT THE AC UNIT! Duh, I felt very stupid when I had to call reception complaining about non-functioning AC. All I had to do was point!
Location was also great - our room faced the back of the property (towards the bungee and the gondola lifts, and not towards the square). would have liked to be facing the square to see/hear the music and noise through the open window - but I can appreciate where others would not want the noise.
Overall, a very good property, and I would go back - winter or summer.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2013

We travelled as a family of four (2 adults, 2 children under 10) and had a lovely stay at the Johanssen building. I would highly recommend Tremblant - and La Place St. Bernard - to other families looking for a few days getaway. We were there for five nights and there were still things we didn't get to do that we wanted to do, but had also seen and done many things by day 3. So, good for a short or long stay.

We did find the flooring/carpeting in the Johanssen buildings to be very worn but everything else was quite clean and met expectations. It was lovely having the little kitchenette, which was reasonably stocked. (FYI - stainless steel pans, which I'm not used to. The handle gets HOT. They do provide 2 potholders, but I'd still bring my own pan next time.)

Staying at the Johanssen, they provide lift tickets for the gondola, 3 hour daily passes to the pool and access to the kid's club and the beach club. The kids club was excellent. The pool was good but try to find out when local camps are onsite because it makes things crazy - don't go then!

Paid activities onsite were all good - loved the luge, eurobungy, rock climbing wall, minigolf, etc.

If you want to use laundry, it's $2.50 for a wash and 25 cents per unit of drying (5 minutes?). Only takes quarters.

The parking garage is very, very hot. :P Don't leave anything in your car that can't take the heat.

Went into St. Jovite for groceries and it was a fairly close drive and the Metro actually had pretty good deals on!

We did a mix of cooking in and eating out and it was nice. I recommend ordering the spinach salad (dinner size) at Le Diable - it's huge. Get it as takeout and bring it back to the room fridge - it will make side salad for 4 for 2 days! And is delicious!

Housekeeping was a bit hit and miss. Honestly, hang the little hanger on the door the night before to get a $5 (or was it $6) room credit and tidy yourself instead of having housekeeping the next day.

If you do use the pool, they provide towels (and locks for the lockers) but they're a tad small. You might want to bring your own towel for it.

Recommendations:
Do bring your own frying pan
Do bring paper towels
Take water on the gondola to the top of the mountain! Hot in the cabin.

Overall - we had an excellent experience, however, I can't provide a rating of 5 out of 5 due to some electrical issues that for the most part were not directly the properties fault (they were Hydro Quebec's). It should first be noted that this is not a hotel, but a condominium. Reception is in another building and you will not get room or laundry service here (housekeeping is included though and there are clothes washing facilities on site) and some of the amenities are located elsewhere on the resort property (although quite nearby), so if you are not prepared to do a lot of walking and were looking for the full service hotel experience this may not be the place for you. Having said that the location and accommodations were fantastic and the value was tremendous! There were six of us for the first three nights and then two couples left and two more arrived. Staff was very accommodating in changing the linens and refreshing the bathrooms mid week for our new guests. Two bedrooms and two bathrooms on the main level with a reasonably sized kitchen (which was very well appointed with the necessary dishes, glasses, cutlery and most kitchen tools, but no tea pot) and living room area and a small balcony. A huge upper level bedroom with an en-suite and large balcony. Everyone remarked about how comfortable the beds were. The furnishings were reasonably up to date and everything was very clean. There were no issues with noise with other patrons, but you had to sleep with windows closed due to the on street and AC unit noise. We arrived around 2:00 and were able to check in right away. Internet access was free and worked well, but no access via VPN. I would definitely stay at this property again.

It is located at the top of the village and is surrounded by many restaurants. Loved staying there and having a balcony was a plus. The room was very quiet as there was the music festival that weekend. Our room was just the perfect size and very clean.

Mont Tremblant is a lovely destination place. We were there for Ironman 70.3 and stayed in the Pedestrian Village for 3 nights. Parked car and never had to drive until we pulled out of town three days later - wonderful! We had a Queen Loft Studio unit overlooking the main street of the village. We could walk to restaurants, fun activities and all event-related needs. Rating is 4 vs. 5 stars for one reason: it was very hot and humid when we were there and the AC does not reach the loft, which is where we slept. Otherwise, unit was just perfect, all amenities provided and customer service was extremely pleasant and competent. The whole village supports tourism vs. being annoyed by it. You can feel the difference!

Room Tip: If you want a balcony or to overlook the main pedestrian street, request it. If you want more quiet...

We stayed at La Place St Bernard Deslauriers June 21- 25, 2013. The location was great. We were there as spectators for the Ironman 70.3. Check in was efficient and friendly. We were pleased with the layout of our room. We had the suite with a loft. Though the loft is quite open to the rest of the unit, the bedroom, though not large, did the trick. We had two full baths which was a nice feature, a full kitchen with basic utensils and a dining table and 6 chairs. Also had a nice little balcony overlooking the village. As others have said the furnishings are rather worn, but adequate. Our biggest problem was with the housekeeping service, practically non-existent. We got fresh towels each day except the last day (we were credited $5.00 for that) after we called to ask for them. Beds were not what I would call made the whole time we were there. For more than $1100.00 for four nights I did expect a better job from housekeeping.
