“Good Eats & Affordable”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 17, 2012

My wife and I spent two days in the area; staying at the local Comfort Inn and visiting Mont Tremblant. A short stroll from the Inn and we were walking up and down rue St. Jovite (street) with a choice of restaurants. We looked at the menus posted outside a few restaurants. Le Vieux Four had a nice mix to choose from and prices are moderate. Restaurant was clean and well staffed with attentive and friendly staff. It was a hot and humid day and they kept our glasses of water topped up. They have a wood oven for cooking pizzas. My wife had one and she said it was delicious. I had a large caesar salad with grilled chicken that was prepared perfectly. A salad may be a simple dish, but I have had some that were terrible with overuse of ingredients. Their salad was nicely balanced and fresh. The waitress came by with a pepper grinder asking if I might want some. Fresh baked bread (baget) was brought just prior to our meal being served and included butter on the side. Nice linen table cloths adorned each table. A nice warm and simple decor with a seating area outdoors. We sat indoors to escape the heat.

The were only two things that I personally found distasteful. One of the waitresses had squatted down to fill a station and her thong was visible. The second was my overhearing a waiter speaking with another gentleman in French and said a common French swear word. Both of these things were the only black marks to what was a pleasant meal.

My advice to the manager: address these issues. Some things can over-shadow all the good things going for this restaurant.

“Basic Italian fare”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2012

The group reservation was not ready when we arrived. Thin crust pizza were solid, skip the calamari, but go for the "moules" (mussels & fries)

“Good weeknight dinner”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2012

We had the table d'hote menu and really enjoyed our evening. Good attentive service, nice atmosphere (even if it was a very quiet off-season weeknight) and the food was tasty.
Apps: Escargot and parmesan fondue (more like 2 croquettes, but husband said they were good)
Mains: Pizzas - we could have shared - they were bigger than the plates!
Dessert: Creme brulee (I'm a snob about these, and this one was delicious) and the mint parfait (ice cream, whipped cream and some mint syrup, but yummy)
We also had a half bottle of wine, and the whole thing came to $70.

“Best Pizza in town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2012

We were there as a group of over 50 , everyone was served and gone within an hour and a half. The waitress was amazing and polite. The pizza was to die for, light crust and excellent taste. Will certainly go back to try something else..!

“Good restaurant with a lovely atmosphere.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2012 via mobile

We have eaten here a few times now and it is our favourite in the area.It always seems to be busy and has a good local feel to it.The food is good, nothing fancy, but good portions and excellent value for money. You can expect to pay one third less than you will at the resort.
