“Good resort if you don't want to be in the Village”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2013

We stayed at this hotel Dec. 27- January 1st 2013. I have stayed here before and it is a nice place. There were lots of activities for kids organized but we didn't really take advantage of all of them as they were geared to the under 10 years old mainly. But the hotel has a great pool and large whirlpool that I enjoyed daily! They also have a small work-out room, steam room and sauna. There is a skating rink across the street that stays lit until the wee hours- so bring your skates!
We had the one bedroom suite- which included a double pull-out couch and a double-sized murphy bed- which is great when you have a girl and boy that can't sleep in the same bed anymore! We had a king-sized bed in a separate bedroom with double-doors- very dark for sleeping- YES!!
There is a shuttle to Mont Tremblant every half hour in the morning and in the late afternoon. Very convenient. The only downside is that if you ski, it doesn't give you much time to browse the shops or have a beer or dinner as the last bus is at 5pm. I hear that P1 and P2 parking lots are free, so I guess we could have come back by driving and checked it out- but if you were one of those people who flew Porter from Toronto, you wouldn't have a car so you'd have to cab it.
The one bedroom had a kitchen with a full size stove and fridge and dishwasher so we ate breakfast in the room every morning. We usually ate out every night in the town of Ste. Jovite (see my good review for "Mille Pates")- but you could get fresh pasta and sauces (or lasagna) from Mille Pates and easily eat in the room.
We had a blocked toilet one night and the coffee refills had not been provided one day- the housekeeping was very fast and friendly. Rooms were clean.
Some people commented they found the rooms noisy- we were on the 3rd floor (only PH above us) and we found it totally fine. I recommend you put the fan on in the bedroom as that creates white noise (albeit noisy and takes getting used to, but blots out all noise).
We also got the parking lot facing room whereas our friends got the lake facing room- in the end, we enjoyed our room regardless as I would say it was probably 30-40% bigger than theirs.
The only downside was how dry the room was. I would recommend they add humidifiers in every room. I should have asked but forgot- recommend you ask the first night!
Only ate one night at the hotel Chez Borivage and it was good. Service from our waitress was not great and the maitre d' hesitated about finding us a table when the restaurant was clearly not full and it shouldn't have made a difference that we hadn't made a reservation when other patrons arrived after us with room to spare in the resto. Pricey wine list.
Would stay there again.

Room Tip: One bedroom suite is good if you have 2 kids that are getting older and won't/can't sleep to...

Visited this property Dec24-26. What a fantastic little property with loads of things to do for young and old! Very fast and efficient check-in, the one bedroom lake view suite was clean and had a beautiful view of the snow covered lake. The room was a tad dated but still adequate. Very family orientated offering a huge indoor pool and jacuzzi, two game rooms and a cute ice rink. Other amenities included bonfire with marshmallows in the evening, sleigh rides, family movies in the lobby. Our Christmas dinner was fabulous (slow service at first). Great breakfast buffet!! What impressed me most was on Christmas Day every child who was a guest received a goodie bag gift courtesy of Santa and Mrs. Clause in front of the fireplace. Free shuttle service to and from Tremblant village was a plus! Would go back in a heartbeat!!!

We just stayed at the hotel for a 3 day getaway for Christmas. The Hotel had activities for kids (and adults!) during that time. The kids even got gifts from Santa on the 25th! The suite was verry clean, we had everything we needed for cooking for 4 adults and 2 kids in our kitchen. The bathrooms are however too small!
The lake view is a plus!
Hotel is minutes away from the village. Service at front desk is also great!

Room Tip: The lake view is a plus!

Great location. Amazing view of lake from balcony. Great property for walking around. Great restaurant. Good facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Now the negative:Bedroom is small and air circulation is not good. Couches and chairs in living room are not that comfy either. TVs are small and dated. Noisy! From our room we could hear the people above us walking around, moving chairs, From the our bedroom, we could hear people walking and talking in the hallway, and doors opening and closing (ski season brings boots, which adds to the noise) throughout the day and night. In other words, from 7 am to 11 pm, we could not nap or sit and relax as there was always background noise. Also, there are two bellhops with carts to check in and check out guests but it took soooo longggg that we lugged our own stuff upon check out instead of waiting 45 minutes! Too bad as it's a nice cute place! Won't be going back.

Room Tip: stay on top floor to avoid noise from above. Stay at end of hall too.

It was our third time at this hotel/resort, and I must say it is the perfect spot for short vacation. The property is located only 5 minutes from Mont-Tremblant just on the Lake Ouimet. I really appreciated not being in the ski village of Mont-Tremblant, because I am not a skier + I prefer the quietness of the nearby forest + you don't have to deal with the rich and famous feel of Tremblant. When you stay at le Grand Lodge you feel like you are part of the family, we were there for Christmas, and all the activity (FREE) were there (sleigh ride, santa clause with a gift for my 10 years old, hot chocolate in the lobby, and much more). Christian as been there the 3 times, and I must he say her is the men in charge, he will help you with your luggage, give you directions, and help you plan your trip.

If you go to Trem, blant, please stay here !!! Well done to the teamof Le Grand Lodge !

We just stayed at the hotel for a 3 day ski getaway just before Christmas. The suite was spactious and well appointed, we had everything we needed for cooking for 5 adults in our kitchen. We were located close enough to the base of the mountain and the shuttle was always very timely. Considering the time of year we were very happy with the rate and would definitely go back. Not the most fancy hotel but very nice, well run and good value for your money.

My wife and I had the pleasure to stay at the Grand Lodge a couple years ago and fell in love with the place. We decided that this would be the venue that we would like to get married at and so we did. Our big date was Sept 29th 2012 and as expected, we could not have asked for a better place to have our wedding. First off, it should be mentionned that Danielle Bouchard did a fantastic job ensuring that everything would be perfect for us. The fall colours were absolutely fantastic and we managed to get an outdoor wedding which was what we had wanted. Even the gods were on our side. The staff were absolutely fabulous and they did everything in their power to ensure that our big day would be to our expectations. The food was second to none and our guests were absolutely amazed by the offered menu.

We would certainly recommend Le Grand Lodge for anyone who would like to have a very romantic yet, affordable wedding. I am confident in stating that Daniele and the staff will provide top notch service to anyone wishing to have their wedding at the Grand Lodge.

Thanks for all the memories

Andre Gibeault and Vicki Burden

Room Tip: The rooms facing Lake Ouimet have balcony with a beautiful view.
