“Nice hotel in great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago

Had a quiet enjoyable stay after ski season was over. Nice hotel but not as luxurious as I had expected. We stayed in a one bedroom suite with a balcony overlooking the lake. Cannot comment on Gypsy's restaurant since it was closed for the week. Disappointed in the fact that we could not even get room service. Outside hot tub was nice but water temperature was not hot enough for the outdoor temperature at that time. Staff were very nice and polite and the concierge Daniel was very helpful and knowledgable of the area. Being limited to 200MB per day was a disappointment, a resort of this type should have free unlimited wifi access.
Overall a good hotel and would consider staying here again since it is right in the middle of the village and within walking distance to restaurants and shops.

We had a really enjoyable stay here for 5days over easter weekend.
This isn't as nice as other Starwood's I have stayed at inner city, but still a fantastic Resort.

I'm just going to outline basic points of the good and bad.

Good
• Lobby area is beautifully decorated and really nice, however the sliding doors are constantly opening and closing so it's quite cold to sit and even enjoy the fire
• The bar area is lovely, really nice decor, great drinks and wait staff
• Gypsy restaurant is fantastic, the food is delicious, it is Spanish tapas style dishes, but really fresh and delicious dishes.
• The staff in the restaurant both for breakfast and dinner were great, very helpful and attentive. Particularly Virginie who was lovely and very friendly and helpful offering advice about the local area.
• The rooms were very nice, great decor and we had a lovely view of the village on the SPG floor
• Location is good, this isn't ski in ski out (if you want that go to the Fairmont) but the location is great. It's a maximum of 100yards to the slope and lifts.
• very close to lots of good restaurants
• the valet and concierge were incredibly efficient, they took our bags straight to the room and put our skis into the ski check and provided us with a ski locker.
• The ski locker room is also great, roomy lockers are good. And there are seats available to put on boots. It also has a separate external entrance and exit so no need to traipse items though the lobby. However I heard a lot of guests complaining about having a room on this floor and even demanding to be moved as you are woken extremely early by people traipsing past in boots to the locker room.

Not so Good
• The pool area was nice, And the whirlpool was re-opened which was a nice surprise. HOWEVER, the pool and hottub are super cold the water temperature was not adequate for the air temperature of the time, I understand it's spring but still the weather was very wintery and the pool wasn't enjoyable as it was so cold. Also it closes at 8 which sucks. I understand they have a lifeguard/attendant but even if it was adults only after that, it would give other guests an opportunity as you can be quite put off between 6-8 as its full of large groups of children. And the towels are ridiculous, completely counterproductive as they are basically hand towels and if they had larger more adequate towels people would take one, where as now everyone I saw was taking 2/3/4/5 even.
• The soundproofing isn't great and it can be quite noisy both from outside and inside the building. There is quite a lot of bars that stay open late in the village and the noise from people woke us up every night of the stay at 2/3 in the morning. As well as noise from neighbouring rooms and corridors that I haven't experienced before at a Westin.
• The room is nice, not as luxurious as other inner city Starwood's, but still lovely. However, this is a ski resort and the room was not equipped for that at all and that was disappointing, I have stayed in fair more luxurious hotels at ski resorts that are still fully equipped by means of storage.
We had 6 guests in the room and therefore 6 pairs of boots, 6 ski jackets and all other regalia. There is nothing by way of storing this equipment, no hanging rails or shoe racks that I have seen in other resorts. It therefore made the room incredibly unorganised and messy as we simply had nowhere except for a small narrow cupboard with a high up shelf. Completely impractical for storing ski gear.
• WIFI - at first sounds great because "free" it's resort wide so will work at any of the restaurants/shops etc. However - it's a) incredibly slow b) not actually free.
You get 200mb free a day for 2 devices, this lasts if you are using as intended for about 1hr. And it bugs me at every Starwood I stay at because there's always a catch to the "free wifi"
We had to pay for more as I required WIFI for work commitments, and it's not cheap $15 a day. I rang the front desk as I was under the impression Starwood guests get free wifi at all hotels but I was just told once you use the free wifi that's it. Really disappointing that at this day in age they can't just have it for free. Unimpressive
• As well as the wifi, parking and breakfast are also chargeable. Parking was around $20 per day and breakfast cost us around $125 per day for 5. So not the cheapest.

Overall a great stay, and we would return in the future.

We've been to this hotel several times. The last time we ere there was not nice as they were just about to start some renovations. We are not the kind of people who go out alot at night. Typically ski all day, nice dinner, nice movie and crash. Perhaps a spa treatment but that's pretty much it.

The ski hill was great and the staff at the Westin really do try. Especially Ryan. He was professional and attentive so we pretty much stuck with him. Sadly the sushi restaurant closed so there was no real place to eat other than at the bar/lounge. You'd think that a hotel of this caliber would have a beautiful place to sit and have a nice romantic dinner. Not really. Then we get to our room and the fireplace remote needed to batteries. 2 pillows without extra blankets.
Ryan gave us a beautiful one bedroom suite so we had a beautiful view of the village as well as the hill.
Sadly, after skiing all day and having a great dinner at one of the other restaurants, NO movie channel. Are you kidding me. Not only that but most of the channels were french speaking. We have traveled to many places and last I heard, English was an International language but not in Quebec. It's actually a law. Go figure.
The outdoor hot tub was closed due to security reasons (Really), so they turned up the temperature at the pool.

Suffice it to say, we probably will not go back. We'll probably try the Fairmont next time.

Room Tip: mountain view

We recently stayed at the Westin Mont Tremblant for 4 nights. (March '15)

-We had a really nice one bedroom suite that was great (high ceilings, fireplace, small kitchen)
-The staff was all very friendly and helpful.
-The hotel is steps away from the lifts and gondola. Plus, it has a locker room to store ski equipment overnight.
-We tried the restaurant at the hotel (a tapas restaurant) and it was excellent.

The drawback: as with a lot of these hotels, parking and breakfast are not included. parking was something like 17 per day and breakfast I think was 20. Wifi was included though.

First time at this property, Outdoor pool was very nice and hot, as was the sauna, but the hot tub was closed due to falling ice from the roof. Hotel was about a 3 minute walk to the main lift, All the shops and Restaurants are right there, Valet parking was effortless, great breakfast spread with fresh fruit and omelette station. Room was amazing in size facing the mountain. King Suite had a kitchenette including cooktop, toaster and fridge, and balcony. Ski locker was in a great location with a short cut out the back of the hotel. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and stay here again.

I stayed the 2nd week of March. We were on the third floor of the hotel and took a left as we got out of the elevators. Do not stay on third floor when you take a right. on the right side is the ski locker room with an entrance to the mountain. If you stay in one of those hotel rooms, you will be woken up very early by skiers heading to the mountain. The service at the hotel was good. Our rooms were a decent size and were of the Westin Standard that my wife and I expect. The restaurant and bar downstairs has good food and wine with friendly service. While the hotel was not ski in and ski out, you literally walked 4 minutes across the plaza to the ski lifts. As an added bonus, when you leave the mountain side entrance of the ski locker room, there is a coffee shop to the left for the morning, and a liquor store to the right for when you come back. I would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Do not stay to the right of the third floor

Wonderful location to the hill to walk out and ski! Front desk and valet service was top notch!! Helped load skis and having locker was a great perk!
The restaurant with tapas was wonderfu, it's location isn't great across from banquet area as a guest unless your part of the banquet event....

We will go back! We had booked on Expedia vs. the hotel direct as it was sold out, even with that the hotel graciously offered a new room recognizing I was Starwood member which they did not have to do.
