“Best Suite in Main Lodge, There for a Wedding”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

We stayed at Hotel Du Lac for a wedding. Room 221 was spectacular with grand views of the lake and the only unit with a private stairway off of the balcony down to a public hot tub and the entrance to the pub. The room was ski lodge-esque, and included a kitchenette, a bedroom with ensuite, washer and dryer (no detergent tho - front desk perhaps, never used it), pull out double couch, fireplace and dining table. Great value coming from the West. Great for entertaining as we had several of the wedding party up for cocktails. The large room for the wedding was well equipped to host 130 people. The Hotel put out self serve poutine as an 11pm snack - recommended for a wedding. Although the units are dated, they are clean and they didn't overkill the decade they were built (probably the 90's) with over the top accents or colors you may see at other resorts. They fit their picturesque surroundings well. I also left a vest and tie at the hotel, they returned my call 2 days after I had left and mailed the items back to me. I would return to the same unit if we travel to Tremblant again.

Room Tip: Room 221 is the best unit in the complex for 2-3 people

The hotel has great views but the unit we were in has not been updated since it was built 15 or more years ago. Furniture is mid 90's vintage. Carpets dirty with burn marks at fireplace. Housekeeping can be proved too. The bed was great. In off season dining room only opens if they know in advance that you are coming!

I stayed with my bike club. I had a lovely one bedroom with a great view. There was a full kitchen and I used the fireplace. Very nice
The food is really first class, we had a splendid dinner and a terrific breakfast before we embarked on our second day of biking.

The breakfast had a lot of fruit, crepes, fluffy eggs, bacon, bread galore and croissants. It was wonderful. For supper I had salmon with orange, again first class.

My only complaint is coffee. I got up early and would have loved an espresso while waiting for breakfast. Ahh the dining room has wonderful views as well.

This place is well worth the stay.

Room Tip: I stayed in one of the condos...dead quiet...

This hotel is situated on the other side of the lake directly looking at Mont Tremblant. The views are stunning. We always stay in the condo rooms on the premises...not the main building where the lobby is. It has all great amenities like a home. Closed bedroom kitchenette and dining room with living room. It's a great family getaway with alot of different things to do. There is a decent beach, a swimming pool and a shuttle to the village. (Although maybe not year round) The restaurant is good. Although we always bring our own food and cook in the condo!! It's a 10 minute drive to the village of Mont Tremblant, or you can adventure on a bike (30 minutes) or take a walk. There are canoes and kayaks you can use to adventure on the lake...lots of things to do at this hotel. Although it's a not in the village and the room are getting a bit outdated it still is a lovely stay out in the woods. I am rarely disappointed when I bring my family there. If you are expecting a 5 star experience you should try the Fairmont or the Quintessense, The Beauvaillon . As much as I love Tremblant, I found that most hotels are getting outdated....you have to really know which ones are more chic and more of the WOW experience.

Room Tip: Rooms with lake view are stunning

We had a medical meeting at the hotel and our group took over the entire property. The hotel felt very much like a home away from home. I was assigned one of the apartments which has two bedrooms each with a washroom, a fully furnished kitchen, dining and living room with a wood burning fireplace and a large balcony. Perfect for a group of friends or a family. The property is a bit old and needs maintenance work and some updating. The amenities include two tennis course which are in good shape, a very nice outdoor pool at the lake's waters edge and a dock with water sports equipment. The indoor pool is dark and non-inviting. There's a gym that my colleagues said was ok. The views from the dining room and conference rooms are stunning, with the sky slopes, lake and sky village all in front of expansive windows. The chef makes great, gourmet food and the waiting staff is extremely professional, helpful and attentive. Pierre, the manager of hospitality is a true host in the best sense of the word and goes above and beyond to make sure your experience is the best. The bar is dated and can definitely use a renovation. The hotel is 3 km from the sky village, through very walkable roads or trails. The only unfortunate experience was with the driver of the hotel's limo, who is grumpy, unhelpful and very unacomodating. Considering its a paid service, I was definitely expecting more. Overal this is a great place for a meeting or a relaxing time with friends and family. Perfect pied-a-terre for exploring all that the region has to offer.

For those who haven't been to Mont Tremblant yet, go. This sprawling hotel is situated on the other side of the lake looking directly at Mont Tremblant. We stayed in one of its series of condos, which were kitted out with everything you need for an enjoyable lengthy stay; dishwasher, washing machine, fridge and and two gorgeous walk-out balconies. Make sure you bring your walking boots when you get here though, navigating up and down stairs and hallways isn't always the most pleasant thing to do especially after a long car ride up, but the view makes it all worthwhile. This little slice of heaven comes with all amenities included in the price of your stay, and a fairly cheap full breakfast buffet.

First off: Location Location absolutely stunning. Great staff very good food. Now for the bad news. The condo unit was a 2 room fully furnished. It was not clean, grungy, outdated (accept for the bed which was comfortable) windows were filthy and the bathroom tile had mold the carpets were dirty and there was an order of mustiness throughout. It's ashamed as the Groupon deal was the best way to have us discover the place (our first time). Unless the hotel could show us that they had better accomodations than what we had we, unfortunately, would not go back there to stay overnight.
They also need to better maintain the little bit of beach front they have from the Canada geese feces all over the place. Not hygenic. This place definitely has the potential to be spectacular if the money is invested.
