“nested in a quaint area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2014

Hovey Manor is settled in a beautiful area of the Eastern townships. The manor is built close to Lake Massawipi where you can do many activities on or around the lake. What impressed me the most were the elegant rooms and with no doubt the high quality of meals and wines. The personnel is attentive to your desires. Enjoy!

Just spent Easter week-end at the Manoir, My lovely Girlfriend treated me here for my birthday, yes I am a very spoiled man! Had read about it here before going. Sounded great, website was great. This still does not prepare you for the experience. We are keen foodies and were treated to exquisite experiences in dinning room. Super presentation, unique flavors and textures. We love the promotion of local products. Even their wine list includes an impressive rainbow of selections, counting canadian wines among the choices, a rare thing.

Room was second to none, service absolutely impeccable, nothing but smiles and kindness all around.

We can only imagine how this place would look like in full spring bloom, green summer colors and fall warm reds.

Loved the experience.

Thanks to Manoir's great team!

This was our second visit to Manoir Hovey and again found the experience second to none. We plan on another stay in September. The food was absolutely wonderful, the room delightfully decorated and the service second to none!

Visiting the Eastern Townships in March can be fraught weather wise but Hovey
Dealt with every issue without turning a hair. From parking my car and clearing it
Of snow and ice to producing a marvelous meal with no notice at all to the usual classic dining
Perfect, friendly service aided by having a wonderful chef. Chateau Aux Relais is always pricy
But worth it during a compulsory trip in grim March weather!!!

Manoir Hovey is a gem and, like all true gems, is rare and something to value.

My girlfriend and I 'escaped' from the 'real world' for a three day / two night getaway. Not having ever stayed at Manoir Hovey before (although it's been on my wish list for some time), we didn't really know what to expect. However, from the moment we entered, we were warmly welcomed and treated to friendly (not overbearing or haughty for such a posh establishment) service which made us feel right at home. It's very much like a 'home away from home'. Besides the wonderful staff, the food is exceptional. Truly, it's a gastronomic experience which is very rare these days. I loved that the chefs choose local Québec ingredients such as Brome Lake duck, roots from plants in the area, birch syrup, moss that only grows on the north side of the Québec maple tree, etc. The combinations were very inventive e.g. scallops wrapped in a membrane (they were divine). Presentation was also exceptional. The chefs at Manoir Hovey love the art of cooking and it shows. It's really rare that you find this level of cooking anywhere these days. In fact, almost all of the food is prepared on the premises including the delicious granola and sausages. If you can't afford to stay as a guest, just have dinner. The dining room is beautifully appointed with a decor that blends seamlessly with the yard outside overlooking the gorgeous Lake Massawhippy. And, at $70.00 for the Table d'Hote, this is well worth it. Service is attentive, but not overbearing and Patrick will take very good care of you and impress you with his knowledge of the menu and the region. After dinner, have a Brazilian coffee in front of the blazing fire in the Library. Life just doesn't get much better than that!

From the moment of arrival to the sad moment of departure, we were taken care of in a very special manner. I work in the hospitality field and can appreciate all Manoir Hovey's excellent staff and impeccable grace. The rooms were very comfortable and well appointed with all the amenities one could ask for. I had a upstairs room with a beautiful view of the lake and a great little porch. The food was incredible along with the wait staff, Steve made several beautiful wine pairings for our meals and was a delight to speak with. You will not regret staying at Manoir Hovey, I highly recommend!!

My wife and I had a relaxing and affordably elegant second visit to this well-established inn in Southern Quebec. The property is just 30 minutes north of the Canadian border with Vermont. Two days were just the right amount of time to unwind and enjoy the extraordinary cuisine and service, although I'm sorry we didn't book a three-day visit. Our room, facing the lake, was decorated with great taste and contributed to the sense of calm and well-being.
