“Mini Escapade for Two”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2011

It was a nice place for the price and good distance from the main Saint Sauveur area. Was far enough not to hear any noise from the downtown area, but, next to the highway so...somewhat peaceful. A beautiful view of the ski hills. The hotel itself was nice, the staff could use some work, but, overall it was a mini escape and ended up working out well. Not sure I would return, but, it was nice to have found this place.

Room Tip: I wish I could remember but I know that there are rooms right over the bar and that tends to get row...

This is not a 4 star quality. It is a good 3 star - maybe 3.5 at best. Staff were very friendly and helpful at arrival. They were able to change our rooms to get a nicer view than the rue Principal. The rooms were a good size and we had a little balcony. Room amenities were good: comfortable bed, good table and desk space, nice little kitchenette. Was happy with real glassware and not plastic. However, the room was a bit 'well used' gouges and scuff marks, carpet warn in places. Their vacuuming could have been more attentive - we found things on the floor, pieces of paper, plastic bits from sales tags, etc. The bathroom had big problems. Design: no towel racks - anywhere. Plumbing a problem: the tap in the tub was loose the first time we used it - and we should have let them know then, but we didn't. The next time I turned the tap on, to have a shower, it went flying off - spewing water everywhere. When we told them the next morning, they were of course apologetic. The breakfast was pretty good - I think a bit more robust than other places. Still though, for a 4 star, it wasn't that good. It had melon, strawberries, bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages, ham, not very good croissant, bad orange juice (from concentrate with too much water), potatoes, mediocre coffee, and I think some cold cereal.

when we leave the Ottawa region for a relaxing week end in Saint Sauveur, you expect to go up in the Laurentian and feel the calmness.....it was very nice when we arrive, beautiful hotel all renovated, beautiful room, very clean, but when it`s time to go to bed on a Friday and saturday evening, you expect that you will have a very quiet night 1 Not there, cause from 9 PM to 1 AM both evening, there is a band in the restaurant,at the point you cant sleep at all ! The band is so loud , everything was shaking on the third floor in our room , even with earplug we couldn`t sleep.....we could recognize almost all song the band was playing......on top of that , we schedule to eat in the restaurant at 7:30 PM,we sat down in the restaurant,no one on Saturday evening went to see us,after 10 minutes we left the restaurant and went to another restaurant downtown St-Sauveur.....the guy from the band was testing his equipment and was not impressed that we left......it sad because it is such a besutiful hotel......if we knew that this place is more a week end party hotel on Friday-Saturday,we wouldn`t booked ahead....we like to drive up Laurentian to relax , not to hear a band when we are not aware......I don`t know where was the staff on Saturday evening when we arrive at the restaurant,no ones offered us a drink, nothing at all.....so we left very early Easter sunday to celebrate our long week end somewhere else......hope they will set up the band somewhere else.....

We stayed at this hotel during the week-end of the Shakedown (snow competition). It was full and although there was a lot of partying going on, it was relativelly quiet and peacefull. We enjoyed our stay! The room was decorated with good taste in a modern/fancy style. The bathroom was also very nice and practicall. Everything was impeccably clean! There was a little fridge, microwave, coffee machine and a little kitchen area with plates, glasses and ustensils in our room. No salt or pepper shakers, but we asked the waitress at the hotels bistro and she kindly gave us both. Free wi-fi also. Frindly and helpfull staff!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room far from the bistro (live music)

My boyfreind and I stayed for 2 nights . We arrived early and were greeted by a charming receptionist who allowed us to check in extra early. She was quick and efficient and sent us off to a room that was spacious and new.10 minutes later she called us up and asked us if everything was to our satisfaction. When we told her we were having trouble lighting the fireplace she gave us instuctions over the phone and we were able easily to get it started. She insisted that we feel free to call to the reception should we need anything else. I wish all the staff were as thoughtful and caring as her because when we stopped by the reception the next day the man at the front desk did not smile nor did he appear to be interested in us when we approached the reception . My husband asked a question and he barely acknowledged him.
Although the hotel was clean and we found the beds extremely confortable, we were somewhat dissapointed by the Bisto Bar . Breakfast was good value but the atmostphere at night was not so enjoyable. We did not feel as welcomed at night .
This Hotel certainly has its fine points( its new)and some wonderful staff... for this we will return again in the spring.

I have choosen that hotel because of the heated indoor pool.First the water was cold 1 time out of 2,the floor wasn't that clean, the whirll pool didn't work and too top it all there was water leaking at a few places on the ceiling.I have told the receptionist he knew about it but didn't seem to care too much.I have sent a fax to the manager 3 days later,i am still waiting for an answer.Guesshe don't care too much either
