We had an unexpectedly delicious lunch at the Ship 2 Shore. It looks like a typical maritime takeout joint, but the food is at a completely different level. Sauteed halibut was perfectly done, flaky, and made a fine combination with the pico de gallo sauce. Mixed salad was fresh, and had a tart citrus vinaigrette. The homemade dill chips were sour and aromatic - the best chips I have ever had. The french fries were piping hot and double fried. Even the coleslaw was a new take on the familiar staple - no mayonnaise, crispy, and made with bright red cabbage.
Overall, the best seafood restaurant we have ever been to in Atlantic Canada. Reasonable price, quick service, and conveniently by the highway as well.
