“Nice site, good salads”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2012

Went to the Saint-Eloi for lunch a few days ago. This was the first time I had been there in a long time and I didn't remember how good the salads were. The ceasar salad is home made and it is just wonderful. They offer a trio of salad where you can mix and match three salads and all the ones I had were very good.
Service is friendly but not very fast. Our plates were served fairly quickly (although since we were only having salads, I would have expected things to come out of the kitchen a bit quicker) when we were done though, we had to go to the counter to get our bill because our waitress was just not noticing us - I must admit I find that a bit annoying.
The restaurant is situated in a park that surrounds Lake Leamy in Gatineau. It is a great setting and the view from the terasse is wonderful, but it is a bit difficult to find. The restaurant is completely hidden by the trees and is not on the main street but on the access way to the park besides a home renovation centre (Reno-Depot).
All in all a good experience and the ceasar salad is well worth the few drawbacks.

Spoke English, waitress sat us then left us there 20 minutes while she walked by us again and again. Picked up dirty dishes, wiped tables, anything else, but serve us. Never felt so badly in my life. I will never forget you madam. Rude. Francois rude.

“Like being at the home you always wanted”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2012

Ut was a beautiful evening in June and it was out first time in this lovely bistro.
To park, pass the sign for the restaurant as there is a huge parking lot which is for the bistro and for lac Leamy. Depends on the time you arrive whether parking will be easy or not. It was 6pm on a Friday night and we didn't have reservations. The tables outside were taken but we were seated by te windows (bonus of the view without bugs). The service was friendly, efficient and pleasant without being intrusive. The wine was very reasonably priced a well a the food. We had the traditional burger, chicken Parmesan and the Cajun salmon. The Cajun salmon was first place as far as taste, then the burger and them the chicken Parmesan. It was all fresh and good. Not the kind of place that blows your taste buds into 7th heaven but we will definitely be going back. All in all it was a very nice dinning experience. Clean, fresh, tasty, lovely view, efficient service and very reasonable prices including the wine.
