Me and my boyfriend have been to the chalet europe hotel many times before however each time the quality of our stay goes down. Our first problem began at check in, we arrived around 4pm and went to check in but there was no one there to check us in we waited for about a half hour then decided to go and use the washroom at the husky down the hill. We came back after using the washroom waited 10 more minutes to check in then went out to ask the people who were out in the parking lot sitting i8n their truck if they knew what was going on only to find out they were staff there and were sitting in the truck smoking the whole time we had been waiting to check in. When we finally got their attention and thought we'd soon be in our room, it took us over 45 minutes to finally get in our room because of confusion over what room they were gonna put us in after we had already booked it over a week before. The owners were not even at the hotel the whole weekend and depended on their cleaning staff to put us in our room, who clearly had no clue what they were doing. Then on top of it all the owners lied to us and said they were aware of our reservations when no one knew anything about them at all and in the reservation book we saw they had us wrote in on the wrong weekend. If they had known about our reservations we would not have had to switch rooms the very next night. We were unhappy with the quality of the rooms they were dirty, and worn out, paint was peeling, phone didn't even work, our fire alarm went off because of steam from our shower three times during our stay, blow dryer kept falling off wall into sink, and one of our electrical outlets posed a huge safety concern.. there was a huge chunk of broken metal hanging out of it. On top of all that the room beside ours was being painted and they were in there at 7am yelling and banging the walls waking us up, but I guess it was good they woke us up since they kept shorting out the electric circuits causing our alarm to not go off in the morning. This did not only happen once during our stay but twice during a three day stay and again they lied telling us the power outages had nothing to do with them, but we were the only ones staying that night. The second and third night there were noisy yelling children running up and down the hall at 8am in the morning and again the hotel staff did nothing about this. We also found the staff were very unprofessional about everything that happened, did nothing took none of the blame and everytime we talked to them about a problem they would just call the owner and come to our room with the phone saying my owner would like to talk to you and just pass the phone off to us. They also advertise a hot tub and games room on their website which has not been opened since the first time we stayed which was over two years ago and don't be fooled by the ad on their website for a free dinner certificate you pretty much have to fight with them and constantly bug them to actually get it. . We will not be staying here again mostly because after everything that went wrong they refused to take any of the blame or offer us reimbursment or something to make our experience better. The only good thing we have to say about this hotel this time is the view was great and the decks overlooking the view are great but room quality and hotel service truly sucks.
