“The perfect relaxing getaway”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2013 via mobile

This was our second visit here, and as wonderful as the first. Perfectly private with an amazing view - we saw seals, eagles, otters, humming birds and stellar jays without moving from our hot tub. Facilities are clean and comfortable (bring slippers the floor is unheated), with everything you might need.

The cottage is very private on a steep bank overlooking the ocean. The cottage is clean and the king bed is very comfortable. Even when the fog rolls in it's nice to be in the hot tub with the mist of the ocean upon you! Nice spot to get away!

Room Tip: The cottages are in private surroundings.

My wife and I stayed for one night just prior to hiking the Juan de Fuca Trail. Our cabin was perched at the edge of a steep bank over looking the ocean. Spectacular view! The balcony had a hot tub which we enjoyed. The cabin was clean, roomy and with the amenities.

My husband and I honeymooned at Fossil Bay Resort ten years ago. We came back to celebrate our ten year anniversary because no other place seemed as perfect as this. The resort was just as charming as we remembered. The cottages are completely private. There were two other cars at the resort while we were there and we never saw another person. The views at Fossil Bay are beautiful and being able to take the view in while sitting in a hot tub can't be beat. There is a lot of hiking trails around the area if you would like to get out a bit and they all lead to amazing beaches. Sooke is about a 30 minute drive so I would definitely recommend picking up groceries before heading to the resort. The kitchen was perfect and although it doesn't have necessarily everything of convenience that your home would, it definitely has enough to get by. The fireplace is wonderful too and I would definitely recommend picking up some wood in Sooke. Although it is long way from home, we definitely intend on another visit!

My boyfriend and I went to Fossil Bay Resort in 2012 for the first time, and we are currently planning a trip back there in the next week (March 2013).

The private deck with the hot tub was my favorite part, not to mention the beautiful view. Tip: Wear slippers when entering from the deck: if your feet are wet the tile floor might be slippery.

We saw some sea lions hanging out on a rock below the cliff on our last morning there. Pretty cool! Had a wonderful time reading books at the breakfast table with amazing views from the kitchenette window!

Excited to go back and explore more of the trails/forestry and maybe try out the Point No Point restaurant which we did not know about last time we went.

Room Tip: We stayed in Cabin Number 3, and we enjoyed the amazingly tall trees surrounding us, as well as the...

Recently spent one night with my sweetie at this amazingly private resort and it felt like we were away for a week! The room was spotless, warm and comfortable and the views spectacular, even on a rainy day. Loved the full size hot tub, wood burning fireplace and the well appointed kitchen. Next time we will bring our robes and slippers.

We have visited several times for the beauty, serenity, hot tub and privacy. For the price, a bit heavy for our budget, it would be nice to be able to open the sliding door without the help of a 220 lb friend. And if you want to lock the sliding door be prepared to donate some skin! Cabins are spotless and well appointed. A coat of outside paint on railings would improve view. None of these things will stop us from visiting again.

Room Tip: They all have great views.
