My husband and I made a special trip to SHH for lunch after a weekend trip to Victoria from Vancouver.
The place is highly overrated....It has potential but it needs an major upgrade.
The entrance/front desk area is a complete tourist trap, covered in mismatched art and sales pamphlets.
The restaurant looks like a seniors home - it is carpeted! When we walked in, we actually questioned whether this was the restaurant...
The view is beautiful - you can't deny that.
I had the quiche and my husband had the pork tenderloin. My mean looked great until I found a black hair and all desire to eat went away. My husband enjoyed his pork tenderloin and the waitress was very nice.
We didn't stay here overnight but I was going to book a room as a surprise for my husband and I'm now glad I didn't. I'm not sure what you would do here as the house is located in a residential neighbourhood. I suppose you could go down to the beach but it's quite rocky.
This place did not meet my expectations sadly. We had stayed in Victoria for the weekend and this was to be our end of trip daytrip. The town of Sooke is not at all impressive either. I was expecting SHH to be in more of a secluded setting. It is not however, it is located in a residential neighbourhood.
Perhaps my expectations were too high.....
