“Great Weekend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2010

I booked a room for Valentines weekend with my husband and we had the best time. I have stayed here before with a friend, and was pleasantly surprised to find that the guest lounge and breakfast area had been redecorated, along with the fireside room where we stayed. The entire property is fantastic. Our room was fabulous as well, beautifully decorated, and everything was immaculately clean and the bed was really comfortable. Because the weather was rainy, having a fireplace was so cozy. One thing my husband worried about was having to stay in our room to have any kind of privacy, but we sat up in the guest lounge drinking our wine, listening to music with the fire going and never felt that we had to make any conversation with our hosts. Angelo and Ina know how to strike the right balance between helpful/friendly without being intrusive.
My husband was really impressed with the delicious breakfast which included all sorts of fresh baked goodies, fresh fruit and Angelo's signature breakfast entree smoked salmon/swiss chard omelete with fresh tomato salsa. Of course being able to eat looking over the water is just the icing on the cake.
We are looking forward to coming back sooner than later!!

Myself and my husband along with 3 other couples booked into Coopers Cove for their 2 night deluxe package for New Years. A few in the party had never stayed in a B&B and were a little apprehensive to go, but they sure changed their minds after getting there. It was unbelievable with a seven course ultra deluxe dinner, which included a chocolate buffet and champagne at midnight. Everything was fabulous, the rooms are gorgerous and the beds are so comfortable, The breakfast was way beyond anything we had expected. Ina and Angelo were terrific hosts and we all still talk about our new years there and how we were so glad to have picked Coopers Cove to ring in the new!!!

We just returned from a week at Cooper's Cove and were so pleased with our stay that we would return again and again. We stayed in the Blue Heron Room and couldn't have asked for more. The room was immaculate, bed was as comfortable as could be, robes were lovely, bathroom was large with enough cabinet storage for cosmetics, etc. They provide wine glasses and a small refrigerator. The gas fireplace was wonderful. We had a lovely view from our room as did all rooms. The little deck was perfect for two. It is on a somewhat busy road, but we never heard road sounds, because all four rooms are at the back of the house. The breakfasts were more than delicious and filling, and we had one of Angelo's dinners, and it was perhaps the best meal we've ever had (and we've been all over the world). Ina was a wealth of good information and answered all of our questions with great humor. I've stayed at many B&B's over the past 10 years or so in Europe and the USA and would rate Cooper's Cove among the top two or three. Do not hestitate to stay there.

You couldn't ask more from an expensive Hotel Room! Immaculately clean, peaceful garden surroundings......and, "Oh the food"! We stayed in the Blue Heron Room.........a few dollars more, but worth every penny for the private entrance and hot tub. The price for our 3 day stay included two exquisite breakfasts and a five course dinner..........which was among one of the best meals we have ever had. Watching the preparation and learning a trick or two from a most amiable Chef and Host was great fun and a wonderful way to spend the evening. The Hostess was always ready to help answer any questions about the surrounding area and yet always gave the necessary space for a sense of privacy. I would highly recommend Cooper's Cove.

I stumbled across Cooper’s Cove many years ago and have stayed there 6 or 7 times since—and it keeps getting better! Over the years I have brought several family members and friends along and now they are hooked and have made return trips too. Ina and Anglo are wonderful hosts. The rooms are beautifully appointed and impeccably clean with cozy bathrobes & slippers and to-die-for chocolate truffles and a little flask of port wine. Anglo’s vegetable, fruit and flower gardens are a delight to wander in and have grown tremendously over the years. Angelo’s day long cooking class was terrific and dinner at Cooper’s Cove can not be beat—do sit in the kitchen for the ultimate experience. Breakfast is a feast for both eye and tummy…yum! Cooper’s Cove is located along the Galloping Goose trail which is a great place to walk or bike. One visit we rode our bikes from the downtown Victoria Clipper dock to Sooke—it was a beautiful ride. By far, this is one of my most favorite destinations!

Among the best B&B's I've seen. Rooms are immaculate, large, and comfortable, without being overdecorated. At least 3 of the 4 rooms have decks overlooking the garden, hummingbird feeders buzzing with activity, and quiet Sooke Harbor. The innkeeper is a former Culinary Team Canada chef, and his breakfasts taste like it--homebaked rolls, croissant, breads of several varieties daily, a fresh homemade yogurt cheese, homemade yogurt and compote, fruit salad, cereals. And that's the first course--it's followed by an elegantly presented, edible-flower-garnished main course.

We bought the Saturday cooking-school package, which involved an afternoon talking food, gardening, wine, and cooking theory with the innkeeper and 4 other "students", and putting together an elegant dinner cooked and served up later that evening. We've been back this year a second time, and enjoyed it just as much. Sooke feels fairly remote, but does have 2 other great restaurants (Markus', and the Sooke Harbour House). The Galloping Goose trail runs in back of the inn, and is a great (though lonely) walking trail at least a half hour in both directions (and runs all the way to Victoria for cyclists). Victoria is about 30 minutes away by car, as is Duncan and the Vancouver Island winery tour.

Coopers Cove is located on a very busy rood leading to the town of Sooke, about 40 minutes from Victoria. The so-called ocean view is of a little cove and pubic walking trail and only so so. Our room was nice but we felt there could have been more attention to the bathroom as we found hairs everywhere. When the hosts found out we were staying elsewhere for our remaining time in Victoria they constantly put down our next booked accommodations. They made it clear, over and over again, they felt they were the best. This negativity about other B&B's went on and on, this made us very uncomfortable. We travel a lot and only stay at B&B's and this was the worst we have ever been to due to the hosts negative attitude. I would not reconmend this B&B as it is noisy and we did not feel like we had any privacy. L.J. WA USA
