“Delightful”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2013 via mobile

A few weeks before our wedding, we needed a quite weekend away from the planning process. A short pleasant drive from Victoria along the west coast we decided to explore sooke. This hotel was very well priced and we selected it for its location. We were very pleased with the facilities and the recently reno'd room was very comfortable and stylish, vaulted ceiling and wonderful views. As always we had a dog with us and he too was very well cared for. The service was excellent, they meet our every request.
Ps. Sooke is gorgeous, lots of nearby hikes that make you think you've drives all the way up to Tofino.

Having been inside this hotel while registering for the triathlon event held in Sooke every year and thinking that it looked like a good place to be, I took an opportunity to stay three nights. The lobby is spacious and beautiful. Because it was off-season, the atmosphere is quite sleepy but perhaps you might really like that sort of thing. Neither the lounge nor the coffee shop was open during the stay so I did not spend much time enjoying the space as I would have liked. However, there is a wonderful coffee spot just a few minutes away called The Stick in the Mud which I highly recommend. The room booked for the trip was one with two queen beds with a generous number of pillows. It was one of the most deep and comfortable sleeps I've enjoyed at a hotel, owing to the quiet surroundings (Though the road adjacent the hotel is a main road has light traffic) and roll-up blinds. The geek in me really appreciated the iPod/iPhone dock alarm clock. Nice touch. The bathroom is spacious and well equipped, including a full size hairdryer rather than those supremely noisy wall-mounted turbines that lesser places try to pass off for one :) Looking forward to the next visit here.

Room Tip: The south and west sides of the building have views out to the ocean.

Wow! We realize how important it is for you to get a good night’s rest when you are an athlete participating in the triathlon. Thank you for giving us a try! I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed your visit and had the opportunity to explore the town. There are some great little spots hidden in Sooke, and I am glad that you found one to your liking. I hope you have the opportunity to sample the treats in the coffee shop or lounge on your next visit. We look forward to welcoming you back!

I really enjoyed my visit to sooke, this Best Western facility is located in an absolutely beautiful area with an incredible view. I did not realize there was under
ground parking until I did a little exploring. The fitness center is very large and nicely organized, which also has a nice view of the outside open court area. Definitely is on my list to revisit.

Stayed for two nights on a girl's hiking weekend. Arrived later on the Thursday evening and check-in was smooth and efficient. Our premier oceanview room was spacious, modern, and comfortable. The views were outstanding - we were able to watch seals at the marina from our room. The bathroom was spacious and the tub large and inviting of a long soak. The toilet was separate from the bathroom itself, which was pleasant.
The mainfloor was vast and reminiscent of a tropical plantation. We had an explore around the hotel. There is a nice little guest laundry where you can do a quick load if need be. The spa was nice - a massage was enjoyed in an oceanfront room. Although we didn't utilize either the pool or the fitness facilities, they were updated and lacking nothing. The banquet rooms looked out onto their oceanfront gazebo area. We ate at the hotel restaurant Ric's one evening and the tapas were excellent. The only negative feedback I could give the hotel is the hallways are not lit well - it was like you were almost in the dark all the time.
Lovely hotel.

What a wonderful outdoor adventure! I am glad that your group appreciated the features of the resort and had the opportunity to explore the area. I would certainly recommend a visit to the Oceanfront Spa on your next ladies getaway - the treatments are truly rejuvenating. I will pass your comments on to our team in Sooke, and we look forward to welcoming you back!

Beautifully decorated, great location. I wish I could have spent more time there instead of working.
Curious though why there is no exhaust fan in the bathroom, considering the condensation that accumulated on the wall mounted tv screen there when the shower was used.

Thank you for your compliments! The resort guest room washrooms are equipped with a fan, these are located in the water closet. I will pass on your comments to our team in Sooke so they can investigate how this affects the wall mounted television in the washroom. On your next visit, I hope you are able to fully enjoy the services offered at the resort, and enjoy activities that make Sooke unique!

Stayed 2 nights Feb 26-27. Very nice hotel in a very nice area. The rooms are as good as it gets and very comfortable. The hotel amenities are above average and would have to look far to have a complaint! The staff were execptionally friendly and very helpfull. The dinning room was very enjoyable and the food was great. A great place to relax and get away from it all!!

Very good resort.

Found an excellent rate for the BC Day long weekend (last minute) for a room here. The Hotel had been open a few months, the ramp down the ocean was just completed, and the hotel seemed to be off to a great start

Beautiful view of the Ocean, the Harbour, where you could see multitudes of sealife in the water.

The room was good, and considering the rate, and booking last minute, we didn't get an ocean view room, but instead had a balcony directly over the main entrance overlooking the pickup-dropoff spot.
